Was at my local wood shop... they have a sick selection of wood... including this insane pallet of what must be 2-3000 indian rosewood fingerboards.

This is the shop BTW... about 2 minutes from my office.

I bought the one on the bottom, for $12.  But I dug through maybe 30 before I picked, and I could have searched forever.  What I really wished was that I needed a few more... if I could have bought 20 I think I would have been satisfied.

Yeah.  You can definitely get them cheaper online, but to me it's worth it to pay 2 or 3 bucks more and be able to pick the one you want.  Now I just need a nice piece of wood for the rest of the neck...
yeah, almost to pretty to mess up with those ungainly frets!   :)
Sounds like it's time for the fretless strat.   8-)
