Nice find.
Yum.

What do you use to drill these?  A drill press?

Andy AKA Dragonfly does some cool enclosures too:

also dope point to point pedals.  Heeza fuzzmaster.
You can use a drill press or just a hand drill.  Tap your placement and be sure to use a Unibit.
Lucibox, Dragonfly, DonneR  and several others are pretty well known for the custom paint jobs on pedal boxes.  Some super cool looking stuff.  Some of these swirls are awesome.

Dragonfly did a tutorial on a granite like finish and it is VERY cool looking.

Still, there are some guys at BYOC that do incredible things other than these.  Off the charts stuff.  One of the coolest pedals I've ever seen was a BYOC Screamer, that is completely covered in tweed, and the "on light" is not the usual LED but a red jewel light ala an old Fender.
I have read where many have had great results with a unibit but I haven't had any problems with a standard drill and drill bit of the proper size.

I have one more undrilled enclose and tons of parts but I haven't decided what to put in it yet or how to finish the exterior.  I like a lot of the fancy paint jobs but right now my favorite is Fardurk's polished aluminum and chrome trimmings.

I dig that chrome!  You only need one unibit for all the hole sizes needed on an enclosure, deburrs as well.
Keebo, yeah, I've seen that one, and it is WAY cool.  I like the ones Stephen does with a wire brush type drill attachment as well.

So, for you guys who have not seen a bunch of this stuff, how do you like the swirl boxes?  I think they are cool, and some are awesome.
I will only say that I think they look cool enough that I wish I had a reason to use them.  :)
When I first saw one a while back, I thought it was one of the coolest looking pedal enclosures ever.  Now that they are more commonplace, the WOW factor has dropped considerable.  That doesn't mean that I dislike them though.  There are some extremely good looking swirl jobs out there.
