I've got a really neat synth called an OX7 Virtual ToneWheel made by Blue Chip Music Technology (a German company that isn't really around anymore except as Wersi - their parent company, but one that has changed - and gone bankrupt - many times!).

Kind of like this picture, but with black wood.

Anyway, the back of the unit says it wants 12V and 1.5A, however, the transformer that came with it (which is also from Germany) is 15V and 1.24A.

Do you tech-heads think I could use this transformer safely or should I head to Radio Shaft and get one that matches?

Well, you did say it was German...
Since the pic didn't show I threw it up on my server. :)

Just try it.
power output is about the same - 18w vs 18.6

It shouldn't fry anything.

It worked with it before, but then I didn't notice the mismatch.  I just want to make sure I don't damage it.

Ok, I'll stop worrying about it!  Thanks.  :)
Craig,

Most things that a designed for 12V can handle 15V easily.  If it's worked with it for years and no failure, you should be safe.
This was something I used then packed.  I just took it out again and thought I'd lost the original transformer somewhere (until I matched everything else up that is).
Ohms law is your friend here.

"What Finger said"!
Be it ever so humble, there's no law like Ohm's?  ::) :D ;D
