My take:

(tube amp miked)
BT was rather long so I cut mine a bit.
changed speaker cabs today, so this is kinda rough tonewise.
mic'ing a g12h30... but placement needs some work.
anyways:
Terrific take Ironsheep !
After this one I doubt I'll put anything else on the BT thread.... It's time for me to put down the guitar and start some good reading.. ;)
Awesome, just awesome !
Ciao!
Marco
heh, thanks!
better not be serious!!! :)
Sheep details please. Amp, pedals, mic, mic preamp even the soundcard.
That is a dream tone.
huh, I thought it was a little raspy! heh, go figure.
anyways, that was... strat with texas specials -> xotic BB -> THD Flexi with 6550 output tubes atm (using both speaker outs because it sounds better with a 4 ohm load - other cab is just a hotplate soak) -> avatar 2x12 g12h30 and a vint30 -> e609 on the g12h30 about a couple inches away and even with cone top to bottom but off center so it's in line with the cap edge on the left to a little further away (usual off center spot, but 3d description is proving difficult, heh) -> cable -> mackie onyx 400 -> imac/logic -> in logic there's a compressor on the input but it doesn't do much (just a little mild peak suppression) and the bus effects: "tape" delay into reverb (the delay is passing dry signal to the reverb along with the delay... about a 60/40 split iirc).
Perfect!
You gotta keep this going on Sheep. That is some serious almost studio quality tone. You always had a great tone yet this one is so balanced and matured. I love it.
Sounds really good Sheep and a nice bit of playing by Zonta too !
by the way Sheep, how are you finding the G12H speaker? Does it have enough low end? The only reason I ask is that I still haven't put mine in a cab yet so I can't really test it yet. Must get around to doing that this week, or weekend or..... oh well ;D
So far so good - it's missing most of the 2k-ish peak of the v30 that I don't really like.
low end seems fine. a bit less than the t75 cab I was using but the mids are much better on the h30.
if I get around to it I'll swap a t75 for the v30 and try that - might be the best of both worlds, h30 + t75.
