quick bt for tone tests turned out semi-fun to jam with. ymmv! heheh.
Nice BT Ironsheep ! ;)
Here's my take....it's the third attempt recorded using the Fulltone fulldrive II. The first two takes were recorded using the new Xotic Ac+...and now are both in the recycle bin..
What a strange pedal ! :) Not a booster, not an OD not a distortion pedal...don't know. It's probably me, but I'm not able to get a decent sound out of it ! This "strange" box will return back to the shop ASAP !!
Ciao!
Marco
nice jam!
I've never tried the AC... seems like the one least talked about. judging by your experience... sounds like it's not a winner.
the BB->RC combo is pretty cool though... but probably more of a "modern" tone than what you're after.
Thanks Ironsheep !
I've listened to some great demos of the AC+ and I think it's probably the combo guitar/amp (..or the trio Marco/guitar/amp).
I'm using the Vox and a '50 Strat, could be due the low output pickups, I don't know.
What I was looking for was a sort of "enhanced" Fulltone fulldrive.
I like the gain and the dynamics of the FD but I miss some low end and a touch of "mid-high" or "high-mid"..I don't know how to explain..
At this point I'm thinking to a 10 bands EQ or at the Xotic EP booster that has two two-way microswitches to enable/disable the bass and highs extra gain.
Ciao!
Marco
P.S.
Great Timmons-ish take, well played with a NICE sound ! :)
thanks!
I know what you mean about the fulldrive - the eq/compression on it becomes all too apparent after awhile. it sounds really cool and everything... but... hard to explain. I still like it a lot.. but I don't use it anymore.
I've been interested in the EP too... but have been able to keep the g.a.s. under control for the most part! heh.
Cool Jams
tricky thing anyway had a jam.
cool jam.
tricky? hmm, try tuning down a half?
True - playing Eb in standard tuning is probably what made it feel tricky.
I listened to all of the examples above, you guys are excellent players and tonemeisters. Y'all did a nice job on this FNJ
