Nice backtrack there Marco. I will have a go at this over the weekend. I won't listen to your take yet as I don't want it to influence what I do !
Will report back soon :)

fun! unfortunately, a couple things would not leave my mind... so I just used them ;) :)
*edit for "nice take lwb!" -- I kinda figured your take would cover those bases... I tried to do different stuff but wound up doing some of that all the same! heh*

Thanks Ironsheep, I like to play in the comfort of pentatonic scales!! :)
Nice take indeed! Sounds great!
Thanks for sharing!

Here's my attempt. I must say that I think this track doesn't need a solo guitar it just needs some vocals instead.
I will have a listen to your takes now
edit: Just listened to your takes. All good stuff :)

Good take, Jon! I like it!
Listening to your take and the one from Ironsheep, I've realized I "forgot" a lot of high frequencies on my guitar sound!!
Thanks! :)

Here's a noodle, WTF ;D I haven't recorded anything in pretty long while.
good stuff DM - your riff bag has gotten larger since the last time I heard you play :)

Excellent! That reverse effect is pretty cool.
ironsheep#17 · Jan 12, 2015 18:46 UTC
thanks guys
the reverse effect isn't so much an effect (like a pedal) but just a reversed track (though it does create an effect, heh) -- I set up some synth midi with the root notes in reverse order, played something, reversed it and stuck it in that section. was weird but seemed to work - though I think the timing is off since I didn't add the beat in reverse order when recording it... but it's close enough for fnj purposes! :)
charger#18 · Jan 12, 2015 19:00 UTC
I often do that by actually taking a bounce (in some DAWs this a a "freeze track") of the section, reversing it (usually after the end of the song) and recording the solo, then reversing the solo section and cutting and pasting it in the right place... works perfectly if you've got tempo configured, or a marker for the beginning of the copied section.
ironsheep#19 · Jan 12, 2015 19:18 UTC
cool! I'll try that. I did have some trouble getting it to line up correctly since I wanted to include some of the lead in and trailing sounds and things just didn't want to cooperate for timing - this would have solved that problem!
DM#20 · Jan 12, 2015 20:55 UTC
That's funny. I had originally wrote "reverse delay", but changed it to effect, because I didn't know what it was.
I had a cheapo delay pedal with the reverse effect on it. It had this drag sound to it and I didn't hear that. I just knew it was some kind of reverse. :P
