Feels like the Doobie Brothers kinda! hehee  Let the jams begin!
I'll have a go at this tomorrow. nice vibe.
Here's a take I did with a condenser hanging over the front of the amp.   :-[  Hehe.

You know.....that was good playing man.  Very good.  I just wish you were a bit louder in the mix.  Good job dude.

Quite enjoyable Jon.  Really caught the vibe I felt when putting ther bt down!

Matt,

Wow, thanks.  I tend to like to play off the piano when its there, and I like to hear the backing so I tend to mix my leads so they almost blend in.  Should try to EQ a bit to make it clearer.  Thanks for the comments.
Good takes guys !

Here's mine...the best I can do with a terible toothache.... can you hear any difference with my usual takes ?? :D

Maybe a little more subdued than usual.  Still sounds great Marco.

Toothaches are like being forced to listen to Joey play metal covers of Barry Manilo tunes.  Hope you feel better soon.

My turn :)

Probably the closest I've managed to get to what I hear in the room due to accidently finding a good mic position. Couldn't do any post recording work on the guitar because Cubase has decided to NOT let me see any of the windows like the full transport panel or, more importantly, the VST effects window >:(. Marco? (actually, save the reply because I have another Cubase Queation for you that I'll post in the relevent section).

Any, enough bollocks, here's my take.
🎵 Bertcave_Tobe_BT.mp3
Just listened to all the others.

GOOD work everyone 8-)
Great one, Spud !
Sounds really good !

Now that I feel better, I can hear some "Gigi D'Alessio" influences in my take.. : ;D
If you don't know who Gigi is...well, it's good for you !  ;D  ;D
Spud,

Another good one!

The cool part of this is hearing everyone's unique interpretation.

Tobe

P.S. Cheers everyone, it's time for a beer in Iowa!
Thanks Tobe.

Hopefully, a few more will come in and we can get someone to mix them together like one big jam 8-).
Haven't got to listen to everyone's yet.....but I will soon.  I can't wait to get to play on this.  I thought I was going to do it this past weekend.....but I had a friend drop in and we got really drunk instead.  I was too hungover to play today! hehehe
LUSH!
fun bt to play on, thanks for posting it!

(I used the "attach" button... can host on my own if you'd prefer - just had to try it)

Nice backing track, Tobe.  Thanks for posting.  I'll have to wait until tomorrow at work to listen to the others.

Here is mine.  It is called "FNJ_NWBG_Keebo":

I'll see if I can upload it here.

Sheep ,

My pleasure!  Thanks for jamming along.  Very cool.
Keebo — Jul 29, 2008Nice backing track, Tobe.  Thanks for posting.

Keebo,

Glad you like it.

Sax!  That was unexpected and so much fun to hear.  Thanks for jumping in.
One of the things I always loved about the FNJs was the different interpretations.  I like hearing how different musicians approach the track.  It's always a learning experience for me.  As it should be.   I enjoyed them all.  Sheep, glad you are playing here!
p.s.  Don't know why I can't find the "modify post" button but...

I've had some recent things that dictated my time with my family, but I'll be able to play here soon.

exactly why I dig the FNJ's.
OK...finally got off my ass and did this thing.  Not perfect....but is it ever?

I love how we can just attach shit....gonna go listen to everyone now.

Jon- As usual I thought you had great tone.

LWB---fuck you.  That was nuts.  Fuck you right in the ass.  I WISH I could think like that.  Very nice.  Beautifully done.

Spud- I always like how things get interpreted.  I think yours and mine are kinda similar.  Nice to hear you get rolling on this.

Sheep- Very sweet playing.  Very sweet tone.  You make me sick with envy still.  Ya bastard.

Keebo-I spent a minute going-What kinda fucking guitar sound is that?  How the fuck did he do that?  Then my brain turned on and said, "That's a sax you fucking "  Cool.  something different.

FB- Go learn some scales!
took another stab at it

I still think this one is way tasty.  The second one is nice, but the first try pretty much nails the style of lead I'd play (if I could really play a lead that is! :D ).
I don't know which one I like better, but, as always when Sheep plays, I like both!   :exclamation
Holy crap. sheep.  That second one is like a fully realized tune!  Amazing atmosphere there.
I finally got a chance to listen to everyone's take.  All clips sounded great.  You guys rock.
I got through all the others today.  Nice job to everyone!
charger — Jul 31, 2008Holy crap. sheep.  That second one is like a fully realized tune!  Amazing atmosphere there.

thanks! the way the guitars came out from :26-:30 made me post it.
- Liked both your takes IronSheep! Great sound !!

-FB, thanks for your comment ! : ;D
Just a question: are you sure you were listening to my take ? :D :D

Happy to see/hear you all at the new FNJ !!  :)

Ciao !
Marco
This track is showing a wide variety of interpretations.  Very cool.  Even though I have listened to everyone, breaking my typical rule of not listening before tracking, I think i'm going to take a shot at this tonight.

Yeah it was yours.  It was fucking killer.
Sheep,

Like 'em both with a slight bias toward the over-the top feel of the second.  Amazingly different perspectives from the same hands.

Charger,

Been waiting amigo legato...  Might be cool to sticky a thread (or general genre threads) with just the BTs so people can find / grab them any time and not feel like it's too late to lay down a jam.

DTR,

No expiration date, but I know you could have a track recorded and uploaded in 15 minutes.

Shit the WH has finally closed - only found out today
anyway the beat goes on and is still strong judging by the jams posted here.

Cool BT Tobe

My attempt attached

charger - won't the space you have on your host get eaten up with attachments?
Is it better that those of us who have web space to use that and  post links.
And leave the attachments for peeps who haven't ?

Thanks Fingers.

That take had some soul, I felt it as well as heard it.

I have 120GB of web space and 1,200GB (!) of transfer per month.  I've limited attachments to 7MB, and to a total of 1GB.  I think we'll be okay. ;)  However, I do, of course, recommend keeping copies of your jams... they are yours and some day you might want them, or I might be possessed by demons.
Thanks Tobe :)

charger - cool - I've just used the upload feature again - it is just so convenient. :)
