At Tuna's wake his wife comes over hugs me and says "Rick wanted you to pick out a guitar." An honor. I picked his Les Paul Classic Goldtop - good memories attached.
I was noodling on it a few evenings ago and this emerged. Made a hasty recording today (sloppy) before I lost it. Slight melancholy crept in.
Jam on it if you feel like it!

Sounds cool. I was sorry to hear about your pal. It sucks as we get older to lose loved ones.
I haven't played electric in some time. Maybe I'll give it a whirl. I made this little 8" Celestion speaker Cab. I saw you posted a while back about a Peavey 6505 MH. I have one of the VK II 20 MH. I dig it. It has a good clean and works cool with a pedal. Maybe I'll try something with that rig.

Thanks DM. I will eventually get that amp well.Maybe an Avatar 212 too. He has / had some gear his wife will sell. We listened to the VK micro heads too and they sounded pretty darn good. Was almost a toss up, but he found the 6505 mh for a good price. I've been lucky and not lost too many close friends. Even my parents are doing well.
Go for it. I would love to hear it. It's all in good fun. I'll throw up a hack job soon. Probably this weekend.

Sorry to hear of your loss Tobe, never an easy thing to go through. My best wishes to all in Tobe-land.
Here's a take with a bonus instrument at the end with which I have yet to figure out much at all!

That was pretty cool. Ironsheep. I was not expecting accoustic but it fit nicely.
Bonus instrument... Viola? Well done!
Nice jam and thanks.
ironsheep#8 · Jun 30, 2016 14:41 UTC
thanks!
violin... ! it's mainly an ear training device at this point. I don't think I'll ever be very good on it as getting my fingers to do the proper movements for vibrato just isn't happening. but it's a whole lot of fun even though I suck at it!
akatomcox#9 · Jun 30, 2016 17:01 UTC
I had one for a couple of weeks many years ago. Never got beyond beginner level but could play reconizable songs. Agree on the vibrato, it was hard to get right and I kept wanting to bend notes... :) No way to hide poor technique on a violin.
With your skilled hands you could conquer it.

I really like the violin stuff at the end

Hey, I'm only seven months late. LOL. I liked the takes here. I hadn't listened to them thinking I might play on it, then never got to it.
Here is just a short piece. It was repetitious, and scabbed together. I was testing out the little Fender Bassbreaker 007.

very nice. but short! ;D
really, you've moved into new territory since I last heard you play - good stuff!
DM#13 · Dec 13, 2016 22:09 UTC
Hey, Thanks for the listen. I still bang on one when I can. I have to work very hard at learning. I still want to learn, though.

Nice! Good tone from that amp. I was hoping you would post something from it.
