A 335 guitar with humbuckers into Pod HD500 DrZ/Treadplate dual amp patch. Trying to learn how to play guitar again, so it's very average, sounds decent through headphones.
Still using my old Soundblaster soundcard, same one from 10 years ago. :)
So - how does someone download the backing track!!
fingers#3 · Feb 20, 2011 00:58 UTC
Found it - with some combination to get to the page where I downloaded.
2nd take.

Badly flubbed ending - wasn't expecting it - lost in the jam.
Lance#5 · Feb 21, 2011 10:52 UTC
Very nice, Fingers...real bluesy.
What you using to record these days?
akatomcox#6 · Feb 21, 2011 19:35 UTC
It has been so long since I've had a few minutes to record I feel like I'm coming out of retirement.
The dogs keep raising hell when they hear you count in. ;D
Regardless of their opinion, I thought it a nice touch and a great sounding track and I couldn't resist a quick pass.
Thanks.
Very nice Lance - Trying to relearn? Not buying it.
Fingers - Nice touch and tone.

What you using to record these days?
Varies - C30 mic'd or it direct through a IR Cab or softtubes Vintage Amp - which is this.
fingers#8 · Feb 21, 2011 23:38 UTC
I may do another take it's a bit too flub ridden.
Nice takes from both CD and Tobe - just listening now
btw CD - you can attach jams directly - forget the soundclick thing.
also - is that a BT you made, Peter - or found online with a cut an paste job ?
Just as it seems 30s longer for you

It's just one of the backing tracks I have on my PC. I felt like continuing the solo so I copied the backing track and inserted it at the end of the first backing track. I couldn't get it to fit perfectly, the drums are a bit off as the second backing track comes in, but that's why mine is longer than your's. :)
Tobe - sounds very cool.

Jezuz!!! This is another level of guitar playing skills...excellent stuff. :) Love the rhythm chords you're using.
What amp you micing these days?
ironsheep#12 · Feb 22, 2011 17:34 UTC
thanks!
this was THD flexi - it has a better mid-gain strat thing going on than the uberschall (which I use for almost everything else).
**forgot... Xotic BB also but only in the middle part.
DreamTheaterRules#13 · Feb 22, 2011 19:02 UTC
Great job to all of you. Fing, you kinda sat in the pocket a bit more than usual. I'm used to hearing you get loose. Maybe have a couple beers before your next one, and funk it up a little. :)
Lwb#14 · Feb 22, 2011 21:34 UTC
Nice to meet you again CD !
Nice takes, gents !
Here's my attempt...again payin' more attention to the noise I make than the few notes I play..
Ciao! Marco

Marco - excellent stuff. Sounds like a Pod HD, correct?
Fingers - even better than take one.
Lwb#19 · Feb 23, 2011 08:47 UTC
Thanks !
Sorry, no patch..It's the amp I've at home to test: a Fender HRD ! ;) It's just arrived and I've to learn how to tweak the EQ. The amp is LOUD and I've recorded my take using the Fulldrive at low low low volume to be able to play at night ! For the kind of music I like to play I think this amp will remain with me. Cleans are really good and the drive channel, at low gain settings, is not that bad.
Ciao! Marco
desertbluesman#20 · Feb 24, 2011 22:24 UTC
Nice Marco, playing as usual is very good. Tone is excellent. Trying out a Hot Rod Deluxe. I have had mine for years and years, love that amp. Put in some hi gain JJ's in the pre amp section and hot JJ power tubes in the power section, and bump up the BIAS to about 82 MV or so. And what a difference, it goes from nice and round to super fat sounding without being flubby. Stick a nice distortion pedal in front of a nicely eq'd clean channel and put the channel switching pedal away. Can't do better for my ears for the blues and blues based rock.
Are you on Facebook? They started a new Bert Cave section over there as well, just pvt me or most anyone here your Facebook profile, and I or anyone here will add you to the group.

Nice job Dale! Only can listen on tiny laptop speakers now, but the tone sounds nice too. What was the signal chain for this one? Tweaker/Blue Dog?
