I run Firefox with the load images automatically unchecked because of my slow dialup connection. This is the only board that jumps up and down after the page is done loading. This makes reading somewhat hard to do especially on the long-winded messages. It is a random jump in frequency as well as random amount of spaces it jumps.
Do you have any idea what may be causing this? Is there some board option I can enable to prevent this?
I am not sure... I am currently surfing with "load images automatically" disabled, and everything is working fine... except I see no images. the site, once it's rendered by Firefox, is static HTML with CSS... nothing unusual. I am wondering if the "jumping" might be related to something else, your mouse or something? I can't even come close to approximating your connection speed to see if it is related. I am noticing that this page (the post reply page) is 101k, even with the images off... so it could be that the page takes a while to load on your modem and that's making it appear strange while it happens.
I just counted 7 jumps in 60 seconds. This was after the page loading was "Done" as informed by the text at the bottom left of the screen.
I don't think it is my mouse since this does not happen on any other board. Maybe Mark is messing with me :) .
It is not really that big of a deal. Kinda like getting sea sick but I have dealt with that before. Thanks for taking the time to look into it for me.
My pages jump a bit while the images are loading it just happens. I am running Firefox 3
Keebo, try loading the main page with images enabled and see if the same thing happens. A page is about 40k, and the forum header image plus buttons is about another 25k. Will increase your load time, but shouldn't be too bad.
I enabled images and the jumping ceases for whatever reason. I'll just uncheck it on the image heavy threads. Thanks charger.
