Just tried to log-in to the wateringhole today and got this:
Shuttered by the board of health. Calls are now being taken by: http://www.chargermusic.com/wh/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl
Does this mean Mark has finally pulled the plug?
I haven't been back there for a few days now as I think the Bertcave is home now. I can't be doing with all the "threats" of closure etc, you either close it or you don't, simple as that really.
I think the "threat" of closure backfired this time and everybody just left.

I think you are exactly right. Put a real bad taste in my mouth. I couldn't go back after this last time. Fuck that bullshit. It can be dead. .
I think he pulled the plug finally after very few came back. I clicked on it earlier and got the same message.
I know there's been a lot of drama, but at least he gave us a few days to get our shit together. Last time he shut it down without any heads-up.
At least he posted a forwarding address for the BertCave.
wow...
I use IE for Ebay, all business sites etc, and Firefox for all forums, gear, casual browsing etc. The Watering Hole has been my home page in Firefox since I joined there. So, every time I open firefox it goes there first. I had not posted once since a few days before "D-day." Yesterday I finally made one post. I noticed while I was there that there were only two threads that had activity in the last two days. Also, on repeated logins over the last few days, I've never seen more than a few guys logged in. One day, I kept checking and there were 3-4 guys logged in every time I looked, but no posts for hours. So guys were there, but it's one of those "if nobody is talking, there's nothing to talk about" things.
When I saw the lack of activity, I figured he'd shut it down, but sure didn't think he'd do it this soon. Now, we have to see if we can get some of the things we wanted from the archives. I'd sure like to get several things over here. Example, get Rockets recording stuff over here to give Richard a base to work from, instead of trying to do a lot of it over again.
Guess we'll see.
I'm frankly surprised he left it up as long as he did. Shortly after the reprieve, it got so quiet you could hear Kev shitting himself. I knew it was only a matter of time before he shut it down.
Again, at least he's giving a forwarding address.
Tis a sad day. Been home to me for a while now. Still, I like it here :).
For me, Mark is more than welcome to come and join in since he gave us a home for so long.
Oh well the past is the past, at least we have this place to continue with it.
I hate to lose contact with most of you. Now I don't have to.
