The Watering Hole

I have an HP which took a crap. I am asking y'all which all in one with fax/scanner that scans instantly instead of having a warm up time like my old HP. And one with good software that will work with XP, and one that uses cheaper ink than HP. Under $200

Any suggestions?

Thanks.
Dave, we just bought a newer HP 4500 for my wife.  She tells me the ink is about $19 bucks for each regularly.  The printer is about $89.   She said she just bought 2 inks on sale for $26 for both.

This is much cheaper than the 5610 All-in-one that I use.  Does the same job and dependable.  The new one is also wireless if you want.

Does it need a significant warm up time to send a fax or make a copy?
I'm gonna say no for either one of my HP's.  I never turn them off.  They scan immediately.  Show a preview.  Save it and ship it.

It has never paused for warm up,  never told me to go away and come back later, never asked to add another twenty five cents please.  ;D
thanks amigo, my HP all in one (5 or more years old) takes at least 30 seconds to warm up the light (or whatever it is doing)
Never buy a cannon. Ink is high as hell. Good printer, but to much for ink.
We have an Epson Artisan 810, it's my first Epson, and it's been really quick and very reliable.  Ink is expensive... all inkjet ink is expensive.  Most printers can be replaced for 2.5x the cost of replacing the ink.  That said, this one's got a touch screen, wireless, networking, and uses 5 colors plus black for ink... prints killer photos, and is really quick with standard printing and scanning.  It's at the three year mark now with no sign of slowing down.

No matter what you get, look into ink refilling... businesses will refill your old cartridges for a way lower price.
I'll check that out. Good idea!
I am thinking Brother MFC-J825DW It has some of the best reviews and the ink is a bit cheaper than my HP's
