Just heard from some others in that area of record breaking tornados ripping through the state.  :o Tie your trailers down boys and stay safe!  ;)
I'm hearing over 250 dead...  Beside Randy, who else lives in the area?  Hooky?  Pick?   :-?
I hope everyone's ok.  Weather is a fucker.
Randy lives in Columbus Ga, not sure, but I think it missed him completely.

I'm good, my wife and girls are good. We were all in Charlotte NC. I now live in Atlanta. Picks good, talked to him today. Anyone else???

My University's town, Tuscaloosa Al, is gone. That's some bad damn shit. Yeah, death toll around 250, and I heard on the news more than 460 people are missing. Unbelievably huge tornado.

That's considered tornado ally through there. Wonder why they don't require underground shelters be at every home in that area?

Good luck to the survivors!!!
Thanks for checking in.  I know a few others that have minor to fairly significant damage, but all are still alive to tell the tale.  Hundreds of tornados over the last couple of weeks and now more than 350 dead (294 in Alabama alone).  FEMA says they've never seen anything like the area that the destruction covered.
Reported that they measured  mile wide base tornadoes with 200mph+ winds
:o
i.e. of the order of  record breaking size,

Those obviously missed - if just one hit an urban centre the toll would be in the thousands.

I am sorry for the people who lost their lives obviously,  but it seems a lucky scrape really.

It could have been far worse - anyone planning for that weather situation in a simulation would have planned for far more than  hundreds of deaths.
Fortunately most DID get warnings to take cover, but several towns were "obliterated" according to FEMA.
Unfortunately, tornado doesn't allow much warning. Not anything at all like Katrina, for example. It's hard to prepare ignorance anyway. (katrina)
