The bar of  a cruise liner in a big storm

Don't you dare laugh ;)

holy crap!  Watched the one (link off that page) that showed it (if it's the same boat) from the outside.  That would be a pretty scary ride!

Need Fenderbender to get mid ship, bottom level to stabilize that thing!!!   :D
I've actually been on a cruise ship in these conditions.  We were going through the Greecian islands when the worst storm in 39 years hit the area (1981).  I saw some really scary stuff!

:o
fuck that shit !
Looks like fun. I would have remained seated and surfed the swells back and forth on my chair. I would have had a good time.
Now someone going back and forth while sitting in a chair would  be hilarious.

Amazing stuff indeed.... In the first vid you posted, that poor woman at :44 nails the back column hard, then gets swept off to the right and a whole shitload of stuff goes after her...  Looks really bad...
This happened 2 years ago - this CCTV footage was only leaked recently.
The worst injury was a broken pelvis - and it isn't here

The worst injuries were in their casino when gaming machines crushed people.

But the woman at 45s looks bad lost teeth I would imagine.

The fat guy in the stripey jumper - slides across at 57s and slides back around 1:10

I feel bad about it - but I couldn't help laughing - it is like some laurel and hardy sketch, because it is so weird - you get no sense of the motion as the cctv camera is fixed to the ship.

The thing that gets me is every boat I have been on - big or small, everything is fixed in to the structure - at worst you would get a few glasses/plates flying around.

This is like operators of land based hotel experience  took to the oceans - just seems really really dumb.
Yeah, first issue is too many things not secured; second issue is "gee, we're headed for some rough seas, maybe we should stow away anything loose?  NAW....  Let's video what happens instead!!!"
That piano in the first video is what cracked me up.  I'm also amazed that so few things were tied down...

I still remember watching people on the dancefloor a couple of days after the main storm when things were calming down.  Imagine this big square area with all of the people dancing in a much smaller portion of it and that portion keeps moving left and right, up and down - hilarious!  Out of over 1,000 guests and crew, the Captian estimated that only about 80 of us didn't get seasick (me included - I guess my love of amusement rides and eating TONS of great food made the difference).  Unfortunately for me, my girlfriend was sick as a dog and, of course, NOT happy that I wasn't sharing in the misery - lol!
Awwwwww, Vegas on the high seas isn't always the beautiful oasis it's sold as.  Nature is a bitch but hedonism is a whore.
