I'm sitting in the garden right now (sending this from iphone)
A beer in one hand, food in the other. The lovely aroma of the bbq sizzling away and a lovely blue sky.
Fucking marvellous :)
severe thunderstorms here tonight. Tornados touched down within 15 miles of home... rather be you! :)
Similar experience here yesterday evening, Jon. Rib eyes instead of BBQ. I was drinking beer as well until my brother coerced me into shots of tokillia and yeagerbombs. Then he dragged me to a bar and now there is a stranger (yes, a woman) snoring in my bed as I type. I can't wait until she departs so I can enjoy my hangover in peace.
DTR, was there much damage? Was that close enough to sound like a train :-) ?
good stuff...
love BBQ and beer in the summer...and strangers in my bed...and shots...and not so much hangovers...and skinny dippin in the neighbors pool at 4 am...and mmm...love summer...
Yep. Summers hit the UK at long last.
I was the same as you yesterday Jon. Beer in hand, home-made burgers and kebabs on the bar-b, friends round.
Downside is I spent 2 hours today cleaning the fucking bbq only to have my good lady and daughter decide they want another one tonight ::). I've just seen the state of it again and guess what.....The bloody thing stay dirty till I get back from Paris on Friday!!! >:(.
Good to have some decent weather though after last summer and this winter just gone.
no real damage, the tornados that were spotted mostly didn't touch down. The one that did, hit a field literally 100 years from the national weather service station in Wilmington. They said the people on duty there were watching it out their windows. It touched down harmlessly in a corn field and went right back up.
We got some soaking rain, and a very nervous Jack Russell. That was about it. I got soaked going out to tie down the hot tub cover, and then we didn't even get any real wind. A friend who lives 5 miles away had a half full garbage can blown about 200 yards. We didn't get any thing but a breeze. Wierd...
VERY Cool light show though.

Wow, that was a close one :-) .
Glad you weathered the storm OK.
DUH! Dorky "too busy at work to pay attention" post alert.... that would be "100 YARDS" or just over 100 meters, if you are Kev trying to get your wheel chair back to the retirement home. ;D

I did notice that, but looking at the postee I just thought ::)

Actually, 100 meters is a bit more than 100 yards.
1 yard = 36 inches
1 meter = 39.3700787 inches
But who's counting? :D
I prefer the original line

It has a kinda "Barcelona 0 Surreal Madrid Fish" thing going on.
:)
ok, I know a meter is more than a yard. :-[ Again, too busy to be playing on here and saying stuff without proofing it.
Use google
It does conversions and is pretty clever - just type in a query
some examples

Thanks for the advice. Perhaps I could just go back to first grade and start over. I mean, this is two things I've incorrectly verbalized in the last two days! :)

Well, that's easy for you to say.
Cin pointed out that it's winter here.
He's right.
Ask him the average temp down there in map of tassie.
Up here on the gold coast it's 22' each day. Still winter - but if you want to BBQ at the beach (400m from home) you really need to put a tshirt on......
