Turned 49 today. What a old feeling. Woke up to my 5 year old singing happy b-day which was a good start to the day though. Wow. 1 more year and I'm 50. I remember when my Dad told me he was 35 and I got scared and thought he was about to die.  ;D

Just got this 3 weeks ago.

I'm working on a trip plan now. Probably heading from Charlotte NC straight to the coast of NC and going north through VA and cutting accross to the mountains and down the Blue Ridge pkry to Ashville NC. Thats one plan. The other is to head towards Kansas and maybe futher north than that, depending. KY would be a great state to ride in. Beautiful country.

Anyway, I hope I don't hit that mid-life crises shit you hear about.  :-/

(I think I did that link wrong but it's working on my end)
Well, damn, happy birthday then!  (You're still younger than me!)

Yep, your picture link was messed up - here ya go:

Damn, you have 5 year old child !  I thought I was an old fucker to have a 16 year old son and I'm 53, but to have a 5 year old at 49.....the other kids will think you are the grandad when he/she is around 12. Wow !

Good luck on your trip, although I have to say Motorbikes at 50, well that's a mid life crisis right there :)
Congrats Hooky!  Nice ride!!
The pict says mid life crisis  ;D
Thanks Craig.

Thats not my first bike gentlemen. I've always bought used bikes and have worked my way up to a used HD. Got a hell of a deal on this one, repo with 2800 miles. Everyone you talk to wants a HD. Thats the goal, usually. Having rode many bikes, including the Honda Goldwing, HD is so behind the times it's not funny. That being said, one can easily be sucked into the HD name/lifestyle/etc. but it's performance isn't close to a Goldwing. The same experienced rider could do really hard twisty's much easier on the Honda. That means it's way easier to ride. But damn... i got a HD.

What a ML crises anyway. ;D

We look at things very differently.

Why in the world would I expect to be anything to my kids, kids? I, without fact checking or reading studies, would bet money that older men would make better fathers in multiple ways. My experience ways heavy here. For many reasons. People have made life long dramatic changes in their life because of a brief encounter with someone. And it would be to them, a positive change. 5 minutes maybe. Even seeing my kids every other weekend would give me plenty opportunity to be a successful father, even if it were only for a few years.

I don't think ones age, as far as being a father, has anything at all to do with being a good father. My job is to enjoy my life. If I have children, I enjoy and love and provide as much as possible, and live. Has very little to do with the age of offspring.

I wasn't saying that being older affects wether you are a good father or not, just looking at it from the kids perspective.  When my own father was 60 my youngest sister was only 10 and the other kids always teased her on it.  Good on yer !  Oh yes, and happy birthday :)

My oldest, 7  ;D, guessed my age at 59 yesterday. She thought her mother, 10 years younger than me, was 64.  ;D I guess being a whore makes you age quicker.  ;D

And thanks for the happy b-day. :)
You is just a pup at 50, I know you think you are old, but take my word for it, if you reach my age (and truthfully I hope you do and surpass it by far) you will realize that at 50 you was still young.....
