Alright I've been in contact with the Godfathers and they say July is the month for what used to be known as Wateringholestock.
At the moment I am looking at either the 2nd or 3rd week of July. It will be one few those two weekends, I just need to figure out which one.
For those of you that don't know or have never been here is what it consists of. Generally half the guys get into town on Friday night....though some guys show up on Thursday (cause they can't wait to get away from their wives I suspect). But generally Friday night after supper we go out to my school and drop off stuff and set everything up....and usually have a little bit of a jam session.
Saturday morning we wake up and eat breakfast then go back out to the school. PLay till lunch......go back to the school....play till supper.....go back to the school.....play till we drop. Sunday the same thing all over again.
Now those of you that have never made it before.....this is NOT....has never been....will never be....a pissing contest. There will be guys that can shred everyones ass.....there will be guys that are just starting out. The point is to come together as a group of people that love music and just have FUN!!!!! We check each others gear out....shoot out different items.....I've gotten my hands on stuff that was even on the market yet to test out from local builders.
The next logical question is.....how fucking much does this cost??? How much do you have??? HAHAHAHAHA Actually the cost to play is relatively low. The major expense for some of you will be lodging....though we have several options available.
The school costs $50 for the weekend.
This year I will get a power amp and some mains and a couple monitors. This is the new major expense. Though honestly at the moment I don't know how much it will cost.....I would think somewhere between $150-$200 bucks at a guess....maybe more maybe less.
We used to have to pay for drums. This is no longer the case. I know have free drums for life.
So.....at a guess.....the pay to play is a total of $250. We split that between all that are showing up. You are on your own for lodging though the hotels are really cheap. I also live 1 mile from the KOA which is also really cheap. They have cabins. This has been a popular idea in the past. Get with some of the guys here and see about splitting a cabin....also making your expenses cheaper.
I currently know of 9 people showing up....so one more makes $25 buck a piece and the more that show up the further that number goes down.
I'll speak more on this later as you fuckers ask questions and shit.
I checked into the cabins last year,it was around $350.00 for Friday,Saturday,Sunday. I don't recall if I had Thursday into the mix.

I just checked the Motel 6 at BG KY $124.17 total for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (all three days that ain't bad).
IF you guys get six people in a cabin....it will be even cheaper.

Fuck that, I snore like a buzz saw, I would pay the motel rate and have a room to myself. I can not have the sleepless nights of those pickers on my conscience.
I have not decided whether I am coming, 2.5 days on the road over, then a 1 day roll up to New Jersey to visit family, then a three day roll back to Arizona. That is a two week trip staying a few days in NJ. In my younger days that would have been an easy choice, lets roll. Nowadays it is a tough haul. But maybe, I ain't been in a good jam session, in 20 years or so. I definitely would enjoy that. I have the new Rav4 Toyota and it gets 28-30 MPG on road.
I am preparing my amps for live work so I could just show.
You could call it the inaugural Bert Caveman Rock Party! (Unless "inaugural" is too big of a word for ya, then you could just the the "First Annual" instead. ;) )

Check out the Microtel, Bowling Green. About the same price (40/night with AAA or senior discount.) Jamie, Rik and I stayed there once. They had a decent breakfast bar type thing and decent rooms, plus free wireless.

The official date this year .......at the moment....I gotta hit the calendar at school tomorrow.....is the 3rd weekend in July.
3rd week in July is a perfect time for that event, I might just make it this year, and continue on to NJ to visit family after the weekend.
I just got my vacation form for this summer, I need to fill it out and send it to the office. I'm making my dayz official.
Man I so want to come to this thing. I may try and swing it. July is far enough away to maybe be able to make it happen.

Change of plans bitches. I talked to my principal today and he informed me that due to new policies on the use of the school in the summer vs. cleaning duties of the janitors that all schools in my district are closed to the public during the month of July.
Thus AT THE MOMENT......it looks like we might do this the 3rd weekend in May. I have to confirm this date with the calendar at school first. Should be able to let you know something better tomorrow.

Official update
Due to scheduling issues at the school I've had to bump this up to May 22-24.
That is the official date.....set in stone. I cannot change it at this point.
This means that very soon I'm goign to be needing some sort of confirmatioion from people on if they can show.
I hoope to get you pricing relatively soon. Again that number will be based on amountof participants. The more that show the lower it go.

The wedding service will be, tentatively, at noon on June 20th, 2009 in Fairlawn, Ohio (northwest of Akron), with a short reception following, and the dinner reception will be, tentatively, at 6 PM on June 20th, 2009 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio (north of Akron).
I have asked Howie to run sound at the service, as well as record the audio, and I have asked Matt to play drums at the service. It just doesn't seem right not to have a "re-baptizer" run sound and have an atheist on the "worship team." :) I told Matt that I want the "Holy, Holy, Holy" to be played heavy enough to cause angels to fall from heaven.
