The Watering Hole

I don't do doorbusters. I do not stand in lines. And I do not get up at the ass crack of dawn to buy anything. Simply put, I avoid Black Friday crowds as if they were a plague. And they actually kinda are. People act stupid, retailers know this, and they use it to draw them in.

So. I tried something on a whim. My 11 year old wants a laptop. Best Buy had a doorbuster Dell laptop advertised for $177.00 at their 6:00 pm opening. Nothing great, but solid for a first computer for a kid.

At 6:05 I jumped on Best Buy's website. That same laptop was there available to purchase at that same price. And yes, I purchased it.

But I go back to thinking about the line of people that literally wrapped around our entire Best Buy here waiting for 6:00 to come. And to put it in a nice way...I'm left scratching my head. Are humans and cattle not so different???
;D ;D

Ass crack of dawn.  ;D ;D
I scored two iPad mini's.  Got $200 in gift cards with the purchase.  Stood in line for 30 minutes to get a wrist band.  Left the store and got something to eat.  Came back and the line had just started but there were like 100 people in front of me.  I was guaranteed the mini's so I didn't care.

Well they started kicking people out of line that didn't have wrist bands.  The line decreased by half.

Then when they got ready to hand stuff out they realized they needed two lines because the iPads and Playstation 4's were in the same place. I just happened to be guy number 3 in the new line.  The guy in front of me was waiting for his old lady.  I got bumped up to guy number 2.

Stood in line for 2 minutes!!!

Left that line and made a bee line to the Xbox One's on the other side of the store.  Walked right up to the display and took one off from the security dude because I already had a wrist band for it.   No line at all.  That's the benefit of a struggling economy and people not being able to afford the new expensive stuff.

Then stood in line with Xbox one in tow for 30 minutes because we paid for the IPad's in the pharmacy area already.  Plopped down my $200 in gift cards and paid only $300 for the Xbox!

There was some TV they were selling for $98....not my brand and too small for me.....EVERYBODY was in that line.
