Just moved my home-based software development and document management services business to a new "real" office last week. I've been thinking about this for some time now as working from home most of the time has it's benefits (like saving loads of money) but it also has its drawbacks in that you can almost become a recluse other than when visiting customers.  This is a good move as it's giving the business a new lease of life. Just kitted it out with new furniture and equipment.  As long as nothing stupid happens like losing a big customer then things are on the up !  :)
Congrats Jon
Congrats Jon!

After 30 years or so, I'm trying to do the exact opposite starting a new job from home. ;)

It's a hard challenge in this time here in Italy but with a bit of luck and some hard work, why not ?
In the mean time I'm working twice...Office from 9 to 7pm and then at home till late night... It's hard but I'm happy because I believe in this new adventure ! ;)

Ciao !

This exactly how I have progressed to where I am.  Started 2 years ago when I was made redundant from my last job after working 20 years for the same company.  Started just working from home and it has now grown to a stage where I can afford (just about) to rent an office.  Damn hard work and there's lots of bad times financially on this road, but stick with it and it is worthwhile and all starts to come to fruition.

Good luck Marco.

Wish you well!!!! :)
Every time I read your topic title I keep hearing that line from Johnny (with an "h") in the movie Airplane:  "Me John, big tree!"  ;D

Good luck!  Sounds like YOUR hard work is paying off.  :)
