Catch A Wave tonight. A Beach Boys Tribute Band. They did all of the hits from the 60's, not a bad show. Mix was good sound quality was good. They did the show dressed like the 60's Beach Boys dressed in that decade. $25 a ticket, never had to leave the community. It was in our ballroom. Filled to capacity at @ $25 a ticket x 750 seats. $18,750 total gate, I do not know what the community got out of that. But not a bad night for the band.

Funny timing this... With Dick Dale passing away yesterday at 81... :(
Not for me. Never liked one single song from Beach Boys.
I grew up in San Diego mostly on the beach so I ended up with a lot of their albums as Christmas/Birthday gifts from relatives "playing it safe." LOL. They definitely had a few songs I liked, but it wasn't until I discovered Agent Orange that I found "surfer" songs I really liked (usually all covers of stuff like Dick Dale's).
I mean, "Pet Sounds?" Come on, that is band at the apex of creativity. I still have trouble even understanding how they pulled some of that stuff off.

It was and still is an extraordinary piece of artistic musical accomplishment.
