Yep no smoking before the hill climb, (the one which we discussed a few weeks back) I went up there like a gazelle, stopped a few times to catch our breath, but the wifey lagged behind yesterday, but the last time we walked that hill it was me lagging behind, I smoked that day.

Ok I am 71 years old and that has something to do with it, I also smoked tobacco from 9 years old to 33 so I am sure that has an effect. But to be sure for me it does have an effect on my ability to endure hard work.......
Far out, man...

p.s.  Extra 50 points for anyone who guesses which one is Charger and which one is Jamie.

I can believe that. I'd like to have evidence, but I guess that's possible.

I just don't know that it's harmful, or proven harmful to the body, just by your experience. I have a hard time concentrating on something after smoking, so I just make sure I get my work done, and when I get home, I don't concentrate. ;D
Thats me and Charger trying to figure out why people spit out speculative information on shit they know nothing about as if it were proven and believed fact by every professional in the field. ;D ;D

Kidding around there, DBM!!  :)
I never said it was harmful to you. I think it has it's cost but that is my opinion. You are full grown, you can make your own decisions, hopefully well informed decisions. I am just commenting on my progress in my studies on smoking and lung power. ;D
;D ;D ;D
DBM, while I don't even remotely refute the effects of smoking on the lungs, I'd say comparing a day where you smoked one cigarette earlier in the day to one where you didn't have any, that the difference in results are more likely the coming down off the stimulant (nicotine) that having less wind that day due to one cigarette.  I think the loss of "wind" type endurance is cumulative and long term, not so much one cig = less that day.  Again, basing this on my experience and that of my friends who smoke and play ball.
All in all there was no nicotine involved  ;D
Oh, THAT "smoking!   ;)     Gotcha!
p.s.  tip from my younger days... don't smoke it earlier in the day, come down, then go hiking.  smoke it right before you hit the trail.  You'll be rockin' that trail!
So, if you're still climbing the hill, then you can't be over the hill yet, right?  ;)
I am definitely over the hill Craig. 8-) ;D

Howie I ain't smoking anything before a day of intense workout. Although sometimes in the evening it is a nice way to finish off the day.

Say it, sing it, deliver it..... my brotha! 8-)
I think the problem is that a 70 year old man got drunk the night before he was gonna attempt to climb Mt Everest High off his ass. And when that didn't work, he blamed pot for not being effective on the climb. Pot will fix a hangover, but it won't turn a 70 year old man with a hangover into a mountain climbing mighty mouse, sorry.  ;D
Pot is wunnerfull, fully cool, been a friend and companion of mine for near 50 years  ;D. But it ain't a help to lungs in mountain climbing, although it does help in the awe/wow factor of the views, that is if you are fortunate enough to make the climb successfully.

You can bet on one thing I ain't going down into the Grand Canyon and then walking back up either straight or stoned.

Bong, Bong, Bong. Or in my case vape, vape, vape..... ;D ;D ;D
The hills I climb are only 800 to 1600 feet in elevation gain with some ups and downs along the way.

Motion is lotion.

Exercise enhances life for an old goat like me, if I don't exercise every day I feel lousy.

Then I would use your own argument as a experiment that pot does the body no harm at all. 50 years of proof staring you in the face and yet you blame pot for not being able to climb a mountain.  And since you can't climb a mountain while high, it's bad for you. Especially your lungs.

Now, does that make sense? ;D ;D

Now vape, put on a $100 record on a 3 million dollar turn table, with the best unicorn amp, with the best speakers from the days of ELO, and pretent thats the best it gets. ;D ;D

You can do that at any elevation and get the same great results. :D

Hook, of course I think the act of smoking for the more difficulty I find in the hill climbs because when I do smoke it is harder to do the hill climb. It is a fact for me. I don't "blame" pot for anything, I am simply stating what happens when I climb the hill. To me it is all a game at this stage of things, I don't take much of anything seriously anymore.
