You have to give an e-mail address, but it can be bogus.

Not a problem.  I always use Howie's email address for these types of things.  :D

I downloaded it - I couldn't get it to play anything apart from this really excellent grand piano sound.

So I  had a jam anyway - guitar is C30.

it is purty sounding

I grabbed it just because it is free. I don't know if I will install it. I have a hardware synth in my DAW. More'n likely the hardware synth is as good and takes no CPU resources.

It will take less CPU resources - unlikely it is as good though - this has a really good sampled piano sound - obvious work went into it

The quality reminds me of  the piano sounds the KB player mate I jam/work with gets on recordings with things like the Bosendorf I can't remember the kit he uses  - but he earns decent dough playing sessions.

For non piano/hobbyist players - good enough is all you need.

yeah the piano and basses on my SW are not up to samples, but I do have "The Grand" on but I always use the Nemesys Giga Piano in Kontakt 1.1

I also have later versions of Kontakt on as well but they do weird things with the Giga Piano, so I still use 1.1 or 1.2 for that. I also have the EW Bosendorfer but have yet to put it on the computer.

Maybe I will install the Proteus VX and see what it does.
