me and the wife found out recently that we are going to have a little one on the way. it wasn't planned and in fact is highly unexpected, but will be a blessing. i don't think i'll be buying much guitar stuff for the next 18 years sadly

First off.....AWESOME!! Kids are wonderful. They change everything you ever thought about life and that is NOT a bad thing.
With kids they come before self. I don't think you are your wife will have any issue in that area....so kids will be easy for you.
The trick for you now is to hope you get kids that are interested in actually playing music....then you will always have a great ecuse to buy new guitar shit! HAHAHAHA
Excellent. As FB says "kids change everything" and for me it was the sudden realisation that this is what it's all about....you suddenly "get it" and have a real purpose in life and realise that all the shit you used to think was important really isn't

9 weeks along we learned today. hearing the heartbeat was a crazy experience. made it very real for me.
It will be even more real before lol. It's a big change... it's not easy. But I know you'll be fine.

sadly i won't get to even be in the same state. i'll be property of the army at that point in time. they don't let people out of BCT for almost anything. not very happy about that, but it's part of the game
