Today a couple buddies and I went over to Cincy to see the Steelers/Bengals game. What a gorgeous day (heres a crappy picture from my camera phone)!!
Howie, man are Cincy fans beat down and down trodden. Before the game, the vibe I was getting from Cincy fans was somewhat pessimistic. I think only once or twice did the stadium come alive (the biggest was when they finally got there first down). At the end of the day, I think there pessimism was somewhat well grounded... :D
Been a Steeler fan since the 70's, well, for a guy not too into football. But i have been to nearly every Jax vs Pittsburgh game in Jax since we got a team, wearing black and gold in a sea of teal.
Beat down? Tired of the same old crap. I give them one more game before even season ticket holders start boycotting the games. People were absolutely fed up with Mike Brown a few years ago, then we went 12-4 and had a team maybe headed to the super bowl until Palmer got hurt in the playoffs. Now, it's back to this stuff again. ::)
Have you tried just wearing a paper bag over your head Howie? :D
I remember driving through Oakland when they were playing the Steelers in the Stupor Bowl. My youngest kid was a Steelers fan and he was hanging outside the van in a parking lot traffic jam with a Steelers cap and a Steelers sign, waving it around at the Oakland fans. Man they were so irate they wanted to kill us. I stopped the kid of course being one against many. I myself am not a team sports fan, I did individual sports as a kid like long distance bike racing and surfing. I never got into the "game" mentality, I always thought the "games" were boring and still do to this day.

I was with you in Black and Gold...
Those games back in the late-90s and early 00s when the Jags and Steelers were in the same division were pretty awesome - it was really becoming a great rivalry until the NFL moved them all around.
Poor Bengals fans...

That was probably an AFC championship game - the Steelers and Raiders are in the same conference.
