The nuclear stress test did not come out as well as I hoped. So the cardiologist is having me in to Del Webb Hospital May 15th for an angioplasty, which means they inject some contrast in my veins and they look at the blood flow to see if the arteries and veins are working well and not blocked. If they are blocked they will put in some stents. The biggest danger to me in this is my kidney function, the contrast is not good for the kidneys, and I have only one working. So it is always under stress. The cardiologist is aware of the kidney problems so his plan is to hydrate the heck outta me while I am in the outpatient facility, use as little contrast as possible, and put in a protective med to protect the kidney. The rest of it is easy as pie they say.
If they have to put in stents, I will have to stay overnight, otherwise I am outta there same day.
Well wishes for you, Dave. I'm sure the Docs have things in order. Hopefully all looks well and you're outta there fairly quick like.
Sorry to hear that...hoping it all turns out well. My grandfather had a couple angioplasty's over the years and they really did the trick for him, allowing him to remain very active until his passing at 82 (from fuckin' cancer, not his heart).
