Probably conned into doing impersonations.

I don't remember which video of his I watched, but he was interviewed and asked a bunch of questions.  During some of his answers he noted that he never took lessons but he would listen to the "greats" and try to figure out how they got their tones.  So he's definitely accomplished at mimicking another's style.

Well, what did you think?  Did he do most justice?

He's a great player -  he mimics most styles very well - especially the shreddy type
some of teh slowhands not as well e.g. Gilmour, Beck
Edge sounded like canned midi, but that is nearly all about use of efx.

My comment isn't that he can't perform these circus acts
It was just made after I looked him up on Spotify and only found one track by him and that was on a guitar compilation album.

He needs to impersonate himself more  :)
