I've been struggling with the 'monk' look for the past couple of years, you know the hole in the back of the head where there used to be hair. So I shaved it all of this morning so it's now like a bowling ball. All I can say is that I wish I had done this years ago. Feels nice and fresh and airy and breezy and looks so much better than the Mr Burns look.

feel ya Jon, due to not wanting to look like Devin in his Skullet days, I have buzzed mine down to near stubble and keep it there, Is damn far easier to deal with for sure. And I am sure in the coming years I will be going to the Kojack look as well.

When I go to my wife's salon (where she rents a chair) for my every other month haircut, I have her cut it as close to the scalp as possible.

I haven't lost anything yet, actually (I've always had that forehead). I'm not even gray anywhere. And I'm 40. We'll see what happens in the next few years, but I'm happy that I'm where I am at this age. I feel fortunate, especially considering all the men on both sides of my family tree were bald in some way by the time they were 40. My younger brother is bald and they always think he's my older brother. He obviously hates that.

It's a funny thing in my family. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Both of my brothers are older than me (one is 60 the other is 65) and both have full heads of really thick hair. My dad still had a really thick full head of hair when he died aged 80. I had very thick hair right up until I was around 38 and then it started to get thin around the crown. Now I'm 52 and the crown is like a plate so I thought fuck it, it's time for it all to go, and so now a full kojak :) So, I obviously drew the short straw (or hair) :)
Tripper, I was like you at 40 only took 4.5 years, well I had gray but had that at 16.

I'm turning the big 5-0 this year and have decided to shave what I have left soon after. Not that there is much left but at least I'll be able to say that I had hair on my head for half a century! ;D
I am more of the receding type than the hole in the ozone type so have been able to put if off for a bit but, alas, the battle is going bad. :'(

Book 'em Danno! I hit the Five-O this year as well.
I started experiencing global warming at 40, that's when I started buzzing mine. Haven't paid for a haircut since.
I hit the 5-0 last year and I still have plenty of hair. The only gray touches the beard. I'm happy with it. :)
Fitty-four, lots of gray, thinning out. More forehead than I had 10 years ago.
But it's really coming in on my ears and back! ;D

I've always had thin hair. Still have it all, with a tad of grey kicking in, but I'm 48, be 49 in June. I would love to shave it all off, but I think that look would be awful on me. I think bald is cool, if your cool. Like Vin Diesel (sp)? or people like that. They can carry that look well. I'm about 175 and 5'8". I can see myself doing it unless I have to go to the combover look. Then it's gone. ;D

Jon....the shiny-ness does you well!! Good look brutha. Add some gray to my goatee in my avatar pic and that's where I am. And it never fails...if I go out anywhere there is alcohol, the head gets rubbed by girlies. My wifey is a great sport and loves it.
