I was living at a cabin out in the West Creek New Jersey woods one time back in the mid 70's or earlier, about a mile from the nearest paved road, so I thought it would be cool to grow a little weed in my front yard. So one night after a little partying, I was pulling into the back entry from the telephone pole road, and saw a light reflect off of a car window. I had a little crank in my pocket as well, so I backed out and started driving away, throwing out the crank into the woods. I of course got arrested, not for growing, but because I had some weed on the fireplace mantle. I got a ticket for under 25 grams. Anyways the State Troopers were the ones who arrested me, but the lead Detective Jimmy Givens of Manahawkin NJ police force comes in after I got busted and said to me "shit Dave I did not know that was you, if I did I would never have busted you".... I do not know if he was straight with that comment but the ultimate punishment was a $50 fine, no big deal. I did go out to the telephone pole road searching for my crank when daylight broke, and I found it intact.
