The Watering Hole

I picked up my snowthrower from the shop last week, and some gas must have spilled inside my van, so now it wreaks of gas. I've tried leaving the back vent windows open for hours (even overnight), and the smell is still there.
Please keep in mind that I live in Canada and there's about a foot of snow on the ground right now, and the temp outside if fucking cold, so keeping the windows open while I drive isn't much of an option for another 4 months.
Light a match?  :D ;D
google has some ideas. one idea was to lightly wet the area and spread coffee grounds let them sit then vacuum them up.
Carpet.....where you spilled it? Or is it a metal floor work type van?
It's my "Family Vehicle" van. Carpet.
I'm gonna assume it's close to the back door, rear.

Take the plastic off that holds down the carpet at the most rear end. There should be some type insulation or padding below the carpet. Find where the gas smell is on that padding or insulation and cut it out about 5 inches wider than the spill. Yeah, cut it out. Go look in your attic and get some insulation, wear gloves, place it in the area you cut out.

Do this first.....after you cut the area out, of the insulation not the carpet itself, wash the metal with warm water and powder detergent that you use to wash clothes with. Then do the same with the carpet. Scrub with a hot rag and detergent, not a brush, then rinse it out the best you can with a little hot water and a dry towel. Dry the entire area, then add the insulation as I said above.

You can get the smell out of the carpet, the problem is the gas gets in the padding or insulation below it....that keeps the smell in the vehicle. If you still have a slight hint of the smell, wash the carpet more the same way I said. Time will lesson the smell and deliver a free high on the way to work and home everyday. Drive safe, and wear your seat belt.

If the area is small, the hell with the insulation, just remove it. Anything to fill the gap will do.....paper, some type of mat or whatever around the same thinkness of the cut out section in close to the same size. No one will see it so it doesn't have to be exactly the same size.

Or, if you have insurance and the van is old.....light a fucking match. ;D ;D Craigs weird, but sometimes has good ideas. ;D ;D ;D
Wow! Thanks HB. I'll give that a shot and let you know.
Much appreciated Man.
Who would have figured that I'd come up with the typical red-neck solution and Hooky would be so helpful, huh?  ;) :D

Stop giving Kev rides?

Holy crap. Where did you copy and paste that from, Hook? Only one misspelling in the whole thing (that I saw), so it can't be your original work.

Did you mean to say "you're" there?
Hook gets rid of the smell of gas in his van by farting outside :D
Actually, my horse shits a lot so I am use to the gas smell. I can't even smell it anymore. ;D ;D
Do you use the horse as backup to when you find you can't start the van up with waste cooking oil - again.  :D

Lots of gas in this car
