After working for a masonry company (part time) since 2004 I just got the ax. Oh well. I called my other (if I wasn't busy with the first guy) boss the minority contractor, and asked if he wanted to hire me in the old guys place and he was as happy as can be to do so. Plus I weaseled a $60 buck a week raise to $300 from $240. That is for 10 hours a week whether I work or not. So there that is.
C'mon Dave! You can't say you got an ax and talk about a job! The next ax you get better have six strings on it or don't drop that subject line on us. ;)
Sounds like it worked out ok for you anyway. :)
DB,
its customary that when one gets news like that you need to visit your local GC or independent retailer and purchase a new Axe or amp, or keyboard, mic
monitor or something... :D
In this case I am going to my Orthopedic surgeon on September 24th at 8:30 AM to see what he can do for my wrist, before Obama does away with the Medicare advantage program I am on. All a surgery will cost me is $200 plus the $35 co-pays at the doctors office. Might as well get'er done while I don't have to pay too much for it.

Or before you're declared too old and given morphine until you kick it! ;D
