The Watering Hole

Well, I redid my shed/office/music room this weekend with paint, and new flooring. In the process I had to dismantle my work computer, printer, DSL modem and router, fax machine, my DAW and related interfaces, all of it consisting of many dozens of wires, routed to different places. Well this morning, I finally got my DAW wired up and; low and behold it all works.

Miracles will never cease.
Ha! I'm doing my office/music room as we speak. Removed a stud wall and repositioned it today. Wired some extra sockets in so the desk can move into the new extra space I've created. Got to finish lining the walls (they were bare blockwork beyond the partition wall I've moved) then the place will get a coat of paint and new flooring over the next two days.

Other than the garden, this is the first work we've done on the house since moving in 18 months ago. I'll take some pics tonight and then some more when it's done and post them up then.

Hopefully we'll get to hear some more Harv music soon  :)

Geez you are the only one who ever missed my muses, and mentioned it. I have been feeling inspired lately, maybe once I make sure everything works right I will try some recording.
Getting everything wired up and working is a highly underrated satisfaction.  :)
I like the stuff I've heard Harv.

I wish I could be inspired right now. I haven't had the time, or the reason, to even pick a guitar up for the last 5 weeks.

I'm hoping that once the office/music room is done, I'll get chance to listen to some of the jams here and be inspired to post something up. I might even re-visit some of the old WH FNJ's I did and re-do the guitar parts for them....We'll see........
Thank goodness it was the DAW.  I was afraid it was ye olde prostate...IT"S ALIVE!!  Scary thought.  :D
I told the guy accross the hall that I'd install a pickup for him if he bought my amp.  I got that done two weeks ago. I got Amy most of the way switched over to a newer PC. I've to to gut another one (see below) and install the sound card in Amys PC.  I Got one BSIAB II built, up and running (and I'm already going to mod it.  ;)).  Also for this week, I'm going to finally fix the wiring in my Ibanez Artist, and.....  build the recording PC using the case only from the gutted one.  After that, I'll start hooking up Mbox, mics, mixers, black light, strobe light etc.   ;D
What? The Ibanez Artist is broke?????? I'll give you $2.50 for it as it stands AND trade you the nude pics of Jo we talked about. (you just know when a topics gonna go tits-up)  ;D
I got everything but the Tonelab plugged in, the wires are just dangling from the thing, they are hooked up in the back and draped over the unit. All I have to do is plug 'er in and see if it works. That is tomorrows job. My ass is whipped after moving all that stuff several times, and laying the floor in and then moving the stuff back building 2 new computer tables, on and on,
I put new pickups in it years ago, and a while back it developed a short.  I'm sure it's just a bad solder joint because back when I did it I had a junk radio shack soldering iron.  I'll reflow the solder joints and get it up and running, no problem.

I'll give you $2.50 for the photos though.    8-)

Fuck this "lets referb the house thing" for a lark. I'M KNACKERED!!!

Walls are done, just need a few more blemishes filling then the're ready for paint. Still have to wire up the new sockets, lay the new flooring, paint walls and ceiling, move all the furniture around and clear all the stuff we took out....ALL before tomorrow night as we have a houseful New Years Day!!!!!

Nothing like cutting it fine eh!! ::)

I was young. Had one guitar.  Wanted lots of tones.  Played the Ibanez so much that I was wearing the gold plating off the pickup cover,  Blah blah.

Honestly, I loved the stock bridge pickup but always thought the neck pickup was muddy.  But I didn't have good amps and pedals back then so who knows.   Besides, I still have the stock ones and can put them back in any time.

I used to have one of these except mine had controls like a Les Paul two tones and two volumes, and it was Ash with the Tree Of Life Inlays on an ebony fingerboard, I paid $399 for it way long ago, I took out the Ibanez pups almost immediately and installed Demarzio Distortions. But after a few months I found Duncan Distortions and put them in and never looked back. I traded it to my kid for a Les Paul Custom (which I gave him some years before) some years later in 1993 I think. Man that guitar was as heavy as a Paul. Loved it for many years however.
