The Watering Hole

Just sold my road case for the Hot Rod Deluxe, Now I can drop the price on the Hot Rod Deluxe. (Too heavy for my old bones) Down to one amp and 3 guitars from my heavyweight quiver of the days of yore. Maybe an new lightweight amp head once the HRD is sold.

+1 on going light. I got a Fender Bassbreaker combo and it is fairly heavy but manageable. Kind of wish I would have picked up the head though.

Some picker brought his Dan Electro Resonator guitar over to try out my Hot Rod Deluxe. It sounded beautiful on the clean channel but when he plugged his distortion stomp into it, that was the most horrible tone of any guitar I have ever put through the HRD, so then we tried the (ugh) distortion channel of the HRD which was even worse than his distortion stomp. So he said all he uses is overdrive. He was a decent player, so I sent him on his way to find something sparkling clean with some advice on what might work for him and that guitar. I could not try to sell him that HRD, I am sure he would not have been happy with it. Anyways I would never try to do overdrive with that type of guitar using any amp.

Eric Sardinas played resonators through a cranked Marshall half stack when I saw him. On the verge of runaway feedback but it sounded ok.

Not something the average player could pull off.

You are like me - no used car salesman gene. Someone will buy it. Used ones don't gather any dust around here.

Gear gets heavier and winters suck more every year - we are going to hit -26 Wednesday night. When you're outside please fan some warmer air toward the midwest. :)

And I could never do a bad turn to a buyer who comes over with good intent. I had good parents who taught me the value of integrity. I am never going to try and put one over on anyone, I simply cannot justify thievery for my gain and someone else's loss. No thanks, money is just not that important to me, but my integrity is'
