M-Audio Studiophile AV40 Reference monitors

I blew them 2x, the surprising thing is, each time they sent me a brand new pair. I got the second pair today, a brand new set in a brand new box. The monitors don't hold up that well if you play them real loud, they work nice at mid volumes though. However I cannot say nice enough things about M-Audio and their customer support.

The problem with the monitors is not their quality, it is me and my abuse of them, expecting them to hold up to my HRD/EVM12L daily.

The first time I blew them, it was a spark of static electricity, a huge one when I touched the volume control on them, that blew out the right side amp. The second time was from abusing them because I was playing loud against my BT's.

The third time will mean a new pair of speakers from another manufacturer for the laptop, because the warantee is up end of September. I use these things to play my backing tracks and I rehearse using a Fender HRD, and sometimes I get a little loud of course, and then bleweeee. Off they go to parts or the dumpster, and I will get a bigger, tougher, and higher quality set.

No need....buy Behringers. You can crank the hell out of them, no problem.
