Yeah, but...

Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na
Hey Hey Hey
Goodbye

The history of pop music is littered with non-lyrics.  Look at how incredible "Hey Jude" is... a song that for the last 3 minutes is entirely built of the word "Na" and "Hey Jude".

Besides, Justin Bieber sucks ass... but I think Sinatra's crap too.
Funny how the Beatles were the first group that came to my mind too.  :)
"doo-be-doo-be-doo"

Charger, please tell me you are not serious about Sinatra.   :o
Ughhhh... can't stand that crooning stuff... where would Sinatra be without the mob? Besides, he only actually wrote lyrics to seven songs.
I agree with Charger. Thats horrible shit in my opinion.
I never saw the appeal of Sinatra myself. Ok for the jet set, but not for anyone on the cutting edge of music. As for Bieber nice for babies, nothing there for anyone over 13. Now the Beatles, that was some excellent music, not everything they did was great but some of it was cutting edge in it's time. In fact I still listen to the Beatles quite a bit when I have to shut out the stupid dialog that comes on during the sitcoms.

I understand not everyone here likes the Beatles, but if you were alive and an adult in the late 60's, you would definitely have a much greater understanding of why they were so beloved by the folks at the time. The world underwent a radical change, something similar to coming out of a fog planet wide, and stayed that way for 5-8 years and then went back into the fog again. If you were not there as an adult as part of the hippy culture you simply can not understand what it was, because you have no frame of reference and no experience with that time and what went on during those late 60's to mid 70's. However there are still pockets of that kind of awareness around even among the younger folk, but it is much rarer these days than it was back then.

For instance if you said the words hard drive in the 1940's everyone who you spoke it to world think you had a hard day at the steering wheel. They simply could not imagine what a hard drive brings to mind these days to the computer savvy.  The same thing is true when talking about the 1960's, if you were not there as a hip adult, you can not understand what went on back then because all you see about it now is stupid movies made by stupid people who had no clue, and those Hollywood folks simply missed the point and by miles.

And it is not only the drugs we took, it was that but in huge numbers, and like I said it was like the whole planet came out of a fog in space that dimmed consciousness of all of humanity including me, and then we came out into the clear view for a while and then went back in to the cloud including me, the only difference is I can remember being out of the fog for those few years........ Ask any 60-70 year old hippy/former hippy about it and I betcha they say the same thing.
And 50 million hippies can't be wrong  ;D
Fortunately for y'all, the world never went all the way back into that fog, because some of what we did in the 60's benefits all of the younger folk to this day. People were blinder back then than they are now. They simply went to war when the government told them to, they jumped when the Gvt said jump the only question they had then was how high oh you high and mighty politicians. The same with religions, you simply did not question religion, you did not question authority, you did not question prejudice. But nowadays many folk have a clearer view of their own choices. Not all but many still do. That all came from us old freaks.

Dude, I love the Beatles more than just about anything I've ever heard.  I was just making the point that lyrics don't have to be brilliant to be great.  No reflection on Justin Bieber, who I think is absolute crap... but just that it's not unusual for lyrics to be weak and the song to still kill it.
Can't stand crooners myself and irrespective of if I was there or not I don't like the beatles music at all. Has nothing to do with the period, I just don't like their music, never have.  George harrison did some good stuff in his solo career but as for the rest of them, no thanks.
I can see your guys reasons for not liking Sinatra (the whole crooner thing).  The thing I always find interesting is how the guy shapes phrases and interprets.  And let's face it, he's not a writer.
I was always out of step with my peers as a kid. Whilst everyone else was into the music of the day (late 60's) i was listening to stuff from the 50's, little richard, howlin' wolfe, john lee hooker etc.....and still listen to it today.  Little richard, what a voice.
I think this guy's better than all of those horseshit's.

Add me to the list, never understood all the Sinatra love, at least not over his performing/talent.

Yep you live in Northern Ca. one of those places where the fog never came all the way back. I had to call a buddy of mine from the hippy daze who lives in Puerto Rico on Vieques Island to confirm what I posted above, and he confirmed what I said above about the world coming out of the fog and going back into it. I never discussed that with him before, but we did get some good laughs about remembering it. But there are a few places where the fog never came all the way back and northern/central Ca is one of those places as is the Sonoran desert, which is where I live. Every time I go up to North Ca, it is like going into the hippy years all over again. The vibe stayed alive there......... Besides N. Ca was the strongest of the places back then where the awareness and clarity vibe was strong. It still lives up there among the folk. I spent many months at times, and then several years living in Trinity County Ca during the late 60's, and I traveled all over Ca back then many many times. I lived a long time in San Diego County also during the 70's surfing with my kids.
There's a strong hippy influence up here in Portland thanks to a lot of people moving there from San Fran.  I even have a sugar cube I was given that I'm saving for the right moment.  ;)

keep it cold or frozen, so it don't turn to something else. Once aged it does turn into something that gives the stomach area the heebee jeebees.
:(

It's been awhile waiting for that moment...  I guess the cube is a goner.  Oh well...  :-/
