The Watering Hole

How is it effecting y'all out there. Stores are empty a bunch in some items in the Surprise Arizona area (NW corner of the Phoenix area) Trader Joe's is out of stock on a lot of items so is the farmers market. No Toilet paper anywhere in any stores, we are probably good for 6 weeks or so on that as we always buy it in big packs, and got lucky last week and got a 24 pack at Wal Mart.

What about y'all out there amigo's ?
Similar stuff here in Florida.  I went out yesterday to fill my gas tank.  Gas $1.99.   First I've seen it below $2.00 in years.  I went to Home Depot to get my tomato plants.  The last few years I shoot for the first day of spring to set the plants.  I only went in the garden Center and avoided the mayhem in the main store.  Parking lot was a zoo.  My wife went to the Grocery yesterday.  She went early so she was able to get most things we needed.  She said that the paper products were pretty much depleted, most meats scarce.  I think most places are starting to limit hoarding so you should be able to get what you need.

I think about our friends overseas.  I hope everyone is well.

I'm fortunate that my business is at home.  I have work and can still bring in a few bucks.  My wife is an event coordinator / entertainer.  Her work calendar went tits-up.  All gatherings of any sort have been postponed or cancelled.

Stay well!
My wifey is a hair dresser, she may just bring that home as she does every year with the flu and colds, she gets those things from co workers or clients.
I can work from home, my wife always works from home. The real challenge has been three kids doing online schooling, including my son, who came back from his college at Colorado Boulder, which closed all in-person teaching for the rest of the year.

The shopping stuff is weird. Being vegetarian and having some vegans in the household, there is no shortage of vegetables and fruit, although for the first couple days of panic, beans were being bought like everyone was suddenly going to actually cook soups. Most restaurants in my area are still doing takeout. It's weird that people hoarded paper products. How much toilet paper does any family use in three weeks? And not being able to get any alcohol or sanitizer is just annoying. Alcohol is by far the best thing to use to disinfect something like a computer or phone that can't get wet, but there is no isopropyl alcohol available anywhere. I still have plenty of denatured alcohol but that is really smelly stuff.

The main thing I am worried about is the businesses that can't survive working from home. I'm still paying all the in-person classes and appointments my kids had, even though they aren't happening, and still trying to buy from my local restaurants and businesses that won't survive 3-4 weeks without clients.
Pretty much the same here. I haven't seen a single roll of TP in any store for more than a week. Apparently it is gone in 5 minutes. Bread, milk, dried foods and canned good shelves are empty. Meat is picked over in the stores close to more populated areas. No sanitizing products of any description. Only supporting my local grocery now. The hoarding thing is a bit disgusting.

Some vegans here too so hopefully the fresh produce will remain available.

My kids are probably both going to be out of work (daughter is already, son works in Illinois.) My wife and I have been 'told' to work from home.

My wife shamed me into not going to Walmart to get an extra family pack of tp two weeks ago. Now she is a little apprehensive about that decision. Three squares a day has a new meaning. ;D

We should be okay unless everything shuts down for more than a month. Then we would be eating some odd meals and breaking out the old socks...
At least you can get your "Wild Turkey 101".  They deemed ABC Stores as essential.  ;D ;D ( I noticed the change from the Rye)

Good eye Lol - Jeff's (small local grocery chain) still has both Templeton and Wild Turkey 101. No limit per customer.  ;D

They just limited tp to two 4-packs of 1/2 ply per customer - only two left this afternoon.  :o

Thanks DM! Have to joke - If I get it my post count will likely not go up much more.

Makes me wish I hadn't recycled the yellow pages that comes around every year.  Hey!  There is always the AMS and Sweetwater catalogs!   :D
We B good on TP here, however Trader Joe's where we shop for most of our organic foods is always out of stock on most items, with a line of 50 people outside the store before they open, Thankfully Sprouts Farmers Market is well stocked in many items I usually get at Trader Joe's so we are good on produce and meats. A lot of the other stuff is readily available in the stores like Fry's Market Safeway and Albertsons plus we have a Winco, and Sam's club within 2 blocks of us.
Same here in UK.  People seem to have gone absolutely crazy with panic buying in all supermarkets.  We do home delivery from supermarkets but available delivery slots are becoming further and further into the future.  No toilet rolls in any stores at all.  Fortunately my son has a friend who works in the industry and is able to keep us well stocked with toilet rolls...which is lucky.  I've worked at home for the past 11 years now since I started my own business, so that's a bonus right now.

Seems like end of days.  I don't understand why so many idiots still go out in large groups, attend concerts etc.  Madness, although our government seems to now be doing something about that.   Also, as from 7pm tonight every McDonalds in the whole of UK will close until further notice...which is a very good thing.

I've been ill since November last year until now (just getting well again).  I'm wondering if I've actually had a mild version of covid-19 as I seem to have had all the symptoms of it since November 2019, wife and son also been the same.  I was in a really bad way for months but seem to be a lot better now.  Maybe Flu and not covid-19...not sure, but docs didn't want to go anywhere near me which sort of tells you something.

Keep safe fuckers, keep away from crowds and just sit about indoors playing your guitars !
Anyone heard from Marco? Hope he’s ok as it sounds really bad there.
PM Boris Johnson just announced everything is now on full lockdown. Nobody to leave home for any reason other that food shopping or medicine.

Totally fucked
Seems we're all headed that way, Jon.  Some area's of the States are already shut down.  From the news here it seems a lot of people in the quarantined areas are ignoring the orders.  Which is kind of fucked, IMO.  I'm already staying put unless I absolutely have to go out.  Our Mayor has mentioned that she is ready to order a shut down except for essential stuff.  So, I guess I'm practicing.

I was glad to see you check in.  I'm curious about Marco as well.

I guess no more daisy chains at the brothel.  :o
*Pfffttt...*  I don't see the need to be an early adopter.  I'll wait for COVID-20.   ;)
Even though we are under lockdown, we are still allowed to go out. What a lot of people are doing is walking the crap out of their dogs.  My dog has never had so much exercise.  the main rule is keep social distance, limit trips for groceries, etc. My daughter came down with pneumonia right when we went into lockdown, and the doctor actually ended up giving her a covid test, which came back negative.  Which means at this point we're really the only people we know who don't have it!
Up here in Ottawa, Canada, I’m doing the self isolation thing for the last 12 days. Luckily I can work from home but I’m not essential so am logging in when my manager needs some reporting. Even with all this free time thought, I’m just picking up my guitar occasionally as it’s hard finding to be inspired to play anything. Hopefully that will change. Got 8 rolls of TP so am good for a month or so. Glad to hear most are doing well. Scary times.  Take care.

Cheers,
