Should have thrown him in "the lake". ;D

Well, the man did work real hard. It's said he actually read the bills he voted on. That in itself deserves some respect if you compare him to the one's who don't read shit. ;D
Old Ted was one of the good guys, only a silly minder partisan from the other side would not recognize that about him. Even though his family was filthy rich, he spent his life trying to make things better for those less fortunate.
well said.

Been hearing the anti Kennedy lobby out in force spewing bile over the last week.
Ted wasn't generally liked by many in Britain as he had the temerity to take a position against their policies on Ireland.

Well fuck them - Ted was proved right in the end and the ironic thing is the spiel merchants reckon  he changed his opinion over the 30+ years on the subject -  the reality is that British government policy and governance in NI moved  to his position - I guess that is relativity at work.

Shame someone like him is not around to give the Palestinians some hope of political balance on the world stage- would ultimately benefit Israel, though they would not thank the messenger for it either.

So for sticking with issues like these for 30-40 years and skilfully handling them  and he may well be very flawed on a personal level.

On the global political stage he was an undoubted  good guy as were his brothers.

The one that made me laugh was GWB giving his eulogy - He started with "We may not have agreed politically"

Look Georgie boy - that is like Joey Dahlia saying that while he had a different style playing guitar to Jim Hendrix he respected his  playing

Let your dad do that eulogy.

Yeah, you have to respect his work. Even if you didn't agree with him.

And he didn't have to work, period. To choose to try to help his state and this country for such a long period is admirable.
I don't know if you heard or not, but during Ted Kennedy's funeral, they had the limos drive up to Boston from the Cape.  As they drove up Route 3, there were all kinds of people waiting, and TV cameras.  Caroline's 20-something daughter (Rose) was in one of the limos, and flipped the bird to the passing TV people.  She thought she was invisible from inside the tinted windows, but it ended up on all of the gossip sites.  I guess Mom wasn't too happy....
Serves the T.V. people right. That has to get on their nerves pretty bad.

This is way off subject but....

I use to live in Hattiesburg Miss. The home of Bret Farve. He was playing golf with some of his friends while drinking shit loads of beer as usual. The T.V. people started following him as he played and he finally got pissed off. He turned around and faced them and said, "film this". And took a piss in front of all the cameras. ;D
