Olberman and Matthews FIRED....from MSNBC election coverage.   :P

Now how the hell did that happen?  ;D

Randy
Where did you find that one?
I know they were talking about that on the tv news this morning.  It was even on the Bob and Tom show (morning radio).

I have been looking for it everywhere and have not located it. There has been, historically, some controversy with Matthews.  This appears to have been an issue in the primaries with Obama and H Clinton. I was not able to find anything current though.

Fired is not accurate. Demoted is more appropriate. They will still be on as analysts. Just not as anchors.

NBC caved to the whiners at the McCain campaign who claim that the factual statements made by Matthews and Olbermann are unfair and "biased" even when the criticism is accurate and truly journalistic...a refreshing change from what we've seen.

But the sad reality is that they're both assholes who don't suffer people's bullshit, and refuse to let it stand when they're on the air, which causes them to seem abrasive to many people.

But David Gregory is pretty good, so it's not going to be bad.

I think we're all missing Russert at this point, though...no matter where we stand politically.

Man, I have missed all of this!  I do miss Russart.
Good for NBC, they saw an imbalance, and corrected it.

I wonder if Fox News is going to follow suit.  ;)

And fire Alan Colmes?  ;) :D
Fox IS the balance....to all the damn LIBERAL MEDIA!  :P  ;D

Oldermann & Matthews....with his tingly feeling running down his leg when he hears an Obama speech...were side lined because MSNBC is losing money and ratings out the yazoo.  ;D

Fear not...Pelosi is trying to have the Unfairnes Doctrine inacted to eliminate talk radio.
You gotta love freedom of speech and the Dem's effort to preserve it.  ;D

Randy

P.S. I know....there's a political section for all this.  ;D

This statement is false. All media is sensationalist. Fox News is demonstrably biased.

Oldermann & Matthews....with his tingly feeling running down his leg when he hears an Obama speech...were side lined because MSNBC is losing money and ratings out the yazoo.  ;D

This statement is also false. MSNBC is very profitable, and their ratings have been growing and growing in the important advertiser demographics (25-54). They're eating away Fox's audience, which has been slipping in the same span of time.

Fear not...Pelosi is trying to have the Unfairnes Doctrine inacted to eliminate talk radio.

This is not true. That might be a side effect, but if it gets liars like Limbaugh and Hannity off the air, or at least balanced in representative opinions, well, the public will be better served by our airwaves we loan to broadcasters. The big issue is that those two (and MANY others) have decided that facts aren't important, and they have become partisan broadcasters, repeating the GOP talking points all day, which is the only explanation for the millions of people (including YOU) who think the Republicans are on their side and looking out for your interests.

You gotta love freedom of speech and the Dem's effort to preserve it.  ;D

Broadcasting isn't really the same thing, otherwise we could say fuck and shit on television without fines. Of course, I'm fine with no fairness doctrine, unlike most of my stripe, so long as we get our tits, fucks, and shits on TV (including nudity).

P.S. I know....there's a political section for all this.  ;D

Time to move this thread, Charger...
