The Watering Hole

I guess I'm serving time!  When I had to move my 80-year old Mom in to live with me I had to move all of my music studio and gear upstairs (which is actually a nicer area).  I also made the third bedroom downstairs into a reading/TV room.  So does my Mom actually use that room?  Not once.  Instead she sits upstairs in the room next to my music studio (there's no divider) and watches TV most of the day (and until 1:30am).

So what do you think she watches on most days?  Fox News 80% of the time, soap operas 10% of the time and gossip shows the rest of the time.  Ok, she also watches Extreme Home Makeover and Dancing with the Stars and, occasionally, sports but most of the time it's just annoying yapping!

I'm trying to finish wiring my live rack and had to leave the room when her soap opera ("As the Stomach Turns?") started...  Now I know what can set serial killers off! ::)

What sucks is that I was really into the wiring job (which takes a lot of concentration when you have a patchbay and a mixing rack that's hard to see or work in).  Oh well...  :-? :(

Needless to say, I don't see the situation changing much in the near future (those of you who have to take care of elderly parents will understand).

Thanks, just needed to vent!

Solution; 3rd bedroom becomes a music room, barfing over bad TV over, problem over.
Heh, if it was that easy I would have probably done it, but third bedroom is way too small and has doors in weird places (including one in the back wall that goes out into a converted "crawl space" that's huge and now a storage/shop area).  :)
