Doing some research... Does anyone here happen to do electronic invoicing using their mobile phone (either Android or Apple) and Quickbooks?
I'm trying to understand all the pieces and parts involved.
Thanks!
I don't Craig. I do use Quickbooks, but I'm using an older version. I have tried to keep from having my business in somebody's cloud. Most of my invoices are handed to the customer. I have a few that I make a PDF of and email to a clients main office but that it limited. I keep my ledger manually and don't have QB hooked into my banking. I manually enter checks. I enter all receipts and stuff every couple of days so it doesn't get piled up.
It looks like Quickbooks is going to stop servicing updates to my Simple Start version, so I may have to upgrade to the monthly service plan. I'm not excited about it. I get nickeled and dimed enough for being a very small business.
I mainly use QB for record keeping and to hand a Company file copy at tax time to my accountant.
I'm familiar with that approach (though we were hooked up to the bank). However, my customer drives around in a large van a lot and sells many items straight from it so he wants to be able to use a phone to create an invoice that he can print (to a wireless, Bluetooth printer in the van). This would also update his Quickbooks with the information. Evidently, Quickbooks used to have this ability, but it was turned off - not sure why.
Ok, this has been resolved! My customer was using the desktop version and merely needs to use the online version (albeit the online version is subscription based).
Yeah. Same boat. If I stay with Quickbooks, I'll have to go with the lowest end subscription. Another $100 a year. Between the City, the County, the State, The Feds, they hundred dollar you to death.
I had some guys that I was doing some flying for that would use their phones to run credit cards in the field. And would print or email a receipt to the customer on the spot. I used to use QB for running credit cards, but they were a little expensive on the charges.
