Read he upset a few people.
Had to check it out

Hilarious
love the fake laughing in the audience - you would expect actors to fake it better ;D
Awesome. I'm still laughing...
The best part about it was, I was thinking about the Golden Globes the other day, and how poetically perfect it would be if Scarlet Johannson was prominently featured, seeing as no one in Hollywood more perfectly sums up the idea of "golden globes"... and she was the first presenter!
I watched YT vids of last year - doesn't really seem much different in the offending content stakes.
Russel Brand hosted something in the US

Did not watch it, but I saw Ricky Gervais on Conan a few nights ago and he was pretty funny there.
A bunch of those Hollywood bitches (and that includes the men) got all bent out of shape because Ricky treated it like a roast.
He was fucking funny...and to me, that's what wins.
And some of the barbs back at him were great, too...
They really need to curb the fart-huffing out there in LA. Hey, Hollywood, You make movies and TV shows - in the grand scheme of things you're NOT IMPORTANT.
But you are entertaining sometimes...
Tripper
I've always found it amusing when the Hollyweird crowd tries to tell the rest of us how we should live when they spend most of their time pretending they're someone they're not. They don't have a clue how the bulk of the world lives!

Over self importance is a mind killer, and those folks have huge ego's. A little knife twisting from someone like Ricky Gervais is good for the soul.
I think it is all hype and Ricky Gervais will be back next year, so long as he keeps making news.
I mean how did he get away with this last year and still be hosting it this year.

I get a chuckle wondering if all of the audience is thinking "Oh Gawd, that's funny! Oh wait, I hope he doesn't pick on me next!" :D
"I like a drink as much as the next man, unless the next man is Mel Gibson."
The 2010 version was brilliant. I think 2011 may have come off as more harsh. But to me it was still really solid.
The theory with Mel Gibson is that he was just ecstatic that he hadn't made a joke about his wife abuse and bigotry.
Yeah - you can see fear in the audience.
The only "fall" guy he is obviously in cahoots with is Steve Carell - they are doing a duelling office type persona thing,
plus they are in biz together on the US version.
This could be reversed and both would still be in office character
