I was surprised to see that he was 67... Didn't know he was that old. Guess I'll have to listen to some Dio tonight!
67 same age as I am, death is no big surprise to us old folks, they are dropping dead every day at my age and in my community. I never heard his stuff, so I was never a fan. The little bit of listening I did to Sabbath Oz was the front man.
Oh damn that's a real shame. Anyone know what took him ?
I remember the album "Holy Diver"....I very nearly wore it out....still have the vinyl !
and of course he was the voice of Rainbow, my specific favourite "Rainbow Rising"

Holy diver! I can't believe it. I thought he was immortal. He road a tiger like the eyes of the cat in the black and blue.

He had a warm, pure voice that never faded.

And, from what I've read, good to work with and a real "fan friendly" guy (purposely the opposite of Ritchie).
I have great memories of going to see Dio every summer at the brendan byrne arena (now Izod center). Good times. RIP.
