Spending a second day at home today due to the snow/ice.
7-12 inches fell yesterday so my boss rang and said "stay home". Last night it froze and then snowed again this morning so he said the same today 8-).
One of the things I love about living where I do. I'll make some calls from home and see how the day/weather goes later.
I actually stayed home one day last week. I never miss work. Amy could not get the truck out of the driveway, so she woke me up at 6:45 to take her to work. She only works about 1 mile form the house. Right after I got home, the town boys came by and plowed our road. THe day before, we had 6" snow, which then turned to freezing rain for about 12 hours, then 4 more inches of snow. So when they plowed, they piled huge piles of ice at the end of our driveway, which then froze. I had one pile that was waist high and I could stand on it without breaking it. It was 3:30 that afternoon before I could get out of the driveway again. I couldn't even break the ice with our snow shovel. I grabbed a hatchet out of the she and was chopping it into pieces that were small enough to roll off into the yard.
Big whoop! ;D I'm on fucking day 8.....and already know I'll be going back to work next Monday at the BEST. Our area is a natural disaster due to snow and ice. People in some areas haven't had power or water for a week now.
It was 80 degrees F here yesterday, I am sitting in my shed/office in a T shirt typing my drivel to you in the warmth of the Arizona morning.
I hate winters, that is why I live here in Arizona. We don't get much of one around here.
