Ok....this is how it works.....
You put up one of your dreams you've always had or wished for.....
Then the rest of us come back and trash the hell out of you for being such an ignoramous to have thought that you could ever accomplish such a feat with such obviously lacking talents or skills. ;D
OK, I'll go first. ;D
I remember being about 17 and bought my first Les Paul and half stack.
I was thinking...you know, I could be a rock star! ;D

The value of hope is not determined by it's eventual success or failure.
And failure does not make it ignorant, you are still getthign something out of picking that guitar up as you are playing years later.
Of course a kid lives in hope that they have the talent in whatever field they have ambition in, how can that be ignorant, they don't know if they do or not at that point, and in the case of music it requires huge slices of luck as well.
Ignorance is not fucking bothering to try in case you fail.
Cynicism is easy, it requires no effort and a cynic is always guaranteed to be right.
Fuck it Randy, the only difference between your story and mine is mine was an SG and a Marshall 100 watt super lead (Plexi). Only I have not yet given up on the dream. Especially with a friend in Beverly Hills whom I just rediscovered, and he is in the movie music making biz. And he says he will put some of my stuff on his next film score. So at 66 years old, I still got a shot, however tenuous it might be. Never give up on the dream, it keeps hope alive. Yet I never gave up my day job either.

I don't have dreams...I have goals, each with its own assiciated task list. Also, the goals are realistic, therefore with proper planning you do achieve them and then move on to the next one.
I have dreams. I think this reality is one of them. I seriously need to improve my dreaming...

I dream that one day the north will secede from the south and the north can finally have the executive representation that they vote for every election year.
Dreams are pointless. I have told my kids to never dream or hope for anything because then they will not have to suffer the soul crushing experience of having their dreams stepped on. Expect the futility of life and all of it's disappointment to be the reality to which you are now a slave. Take what you can, step on whom you must, make life work however possible, but do not get caught up in this fanciful notion of dreams and such. Dreams and wishes lead down a road that only ends with the soul rotting from within.
Life is a giant aquarium, be a shark, not plankton.
That being said, my dream is that I am only dreaming and that I might wake up in my nice king sized bed in my mansion on the side of some kick ass mountain and find out I am the sole survivor of some horrific world wide calamity and I am left alone with the ghost like memories of 6 billion people, all gone except for maybe a dozen super hot bisexual women who's only wish is to show me exactly how freaky they can be. Since they would be the only other inhabitants on Earth, I would have plenty of space to get the fuck away from them as soon as any one of them tried to engage me in a conversation about our feelings and such.

Yeah, my dream was pretty much the same as Randy Bandy Fo Fandy's, except my guitar was a Charvette instead of a Les Paul, and a cheap little amp instead of a nice Marshall half stack or something. The funny thing is, as I grew older, I'm kind of glad I never did. Considering what a cesspool of corruption the music industry is (then again, so is politics - what industry isn't, really?), I'm just glad I never had to deal with it on that level. I'm sure you guys have all heard that quote by Hunter S. Thompson, right? I think he was actually being KIND! ;D >:( :'(

Anyway, I know Randy's thread here is meant all in good fun. But I wouldn't rip on anyone's dreams.
BUT, if anyone comes up with something funny on purpose that we can goof on, I'm all for it! :)
