I joined the local gym today !  :)  Since running my own business full time for nearly 5 years now the one thing that bothers me is that I just don't get any exercise, I just seemed to be permanently glued to a chair and desk.

So, had my first one and a half hour session at the gym today......full on to say the least, but damn I feel better for it !

Aiming for at least 4 sessions a week !
What?  You mean running around in circles and jumping to conclusions don't count as exercise?  :D

Good on you, Jon.  I have a bike that I try to ride around the neighborhood.  Me and the wife went just the other day and maybe this evening when the temp. drops a bit.

I do get some exercise when working, like today, but I could probably benefit from a regular routine.  Most days I think I consume more calories than I burn. LOL
I have "sessions" everyday but they are mental sessions.  8-)

;D ;D
Having a day off the gym today.....fuck I ache  ;D  Back to the torture tomorrow  morning  :)   Really shows how unfit you are when you start exercising.  When I was running on the treadmill yesterday I was trying to remember the last time that I actually did run......that was probably 35 years ago :)
Just back from the gym.  Had a 1 and half hour session today.  Damn, I wish I had started doing this years ago, just feel so "alive" and ready to take on the world  :)

I would Highly recommend everyone to join a gym, or even just book one session and see how great you feel afterwards (apart from the aches in your muscles during the first recovery day, but that should go away once you get into it.....or so I'm told).

Marvelous  ;D
Exercise is life amigo. I have to exercise every day. Weights 3x weekly at the gym and 3x weekly riding a bicycle (winters outside summers in gym), and 1 day hiking the White Tank Mountain Regional Park trails in winter spring and fall, too hot in the summer when it reaches 115*F here every day.

Motion is lotion, and a better quality of life is gained by 20 minutes of cardio exercises at least 3x weekly.
Every day at the gym is a little bit of struggle. It never gets easy. However I feel lousy if I don't exercise. So I push myself every day to do some sort of exercise. In winters I go outside walk to the gym 2.5 miles round trip 3x weekly, and ride my bike outside 5-1/4 miles 3x weekly, and we hike the mountains on Sundays. In summers I walk the treadmill 3x weekly and do weights then on alternate days the bike in the gym 3x weekly. And once in a while we go up the mountain to Sedona Arizona and hike the red rock trails. It is a 1-1/2 hour drive each way but worth it just to get outside.
I like your "Motion is Lotion" .... that really is very true.  Everything moves so much more easily and effortlessly after exercise.  I was really starting to feel like I was slowing down, and at only 53 that's far too early to be slowing down, hence I joined the gym.  It amazes me how quickly you feel the benefit of an intense workout.  My energy levels are up higher than they have been in many years.   I now feel like I need to constantly move about and "do" things, whereas before it was a case of "fuck it, I'll do that tomorrow".  I had a 2 hour gym session this morning.  I'm only doing 3 days a week at the moment, Monday, Wednesday, Friday so I have a rest day between each session, but I will probably ramp that up to 4 or 5 over the coming weeks.  Absolutely loving it at the moment, really has given me a new lease of life !

Don't smoke before you go to the gym.  :P
I do these "spin" classes-- holy shit, that will work you.  Nothing like having someone up there in front of you yelling at you to pedal harder against harder and harder resistance.  I've never sweat so much in my life.  Added bonus, the classes are full of hotties, very few men do spin.

Nor the mountains either.  ;D But I gave up smoking a while back except on very special occasions.
Shame on you. No wonder you like to argue all the sudden. ;D You need to get your head correct often.  ;D

If my brain was not turning to mush because of old age I would stay at it amigo.  I am combating my memory issue problems with juicing and loads of antioxidants, seems to be helping so I decided to limit my smoking to rare occasions. I live in a retirement community and everyone here has the same issues, we "can't remember shit", & we laughingly call it the CRS disease. But it ain't a joke truthfully, so I am taking an active role in combating the decline with diet, and exercise and it seems to be working OK......
The exercise thing really has me hooked now.  I thought that this might one of those things that you get started on and then gradually go less and less etc.  Far from it, I'm loving every minute of it....3 x 2 hour sessions a week,  Monday, Wednesday, Friday.  The difference in how I feel is truly remarkable.  The energy levels are way way up and it just gives a feeling of being incredibly alive.  I love the feeling just after hitting the showers at the end of a session...I just feel as high as a kite !
Keep at it amigo. Exercise is a longer and a greater quality of life. Stagnation is an early death. It is really simple, if you exercise, your quality of life goes way up. I live in a retirement community. The folks who exercise regularly, look and act much younger/better than those who sit around drinking and eating indiscriminately. Of course genetics and diet have a lot to do with later life health, but exercise whatever your genetic fate, helps you to achieve a better quality of life.... Pretty simple really. I never like going to the gym or out walking to start, I simply force myself to do so every day 6 days a week. After the daily exercise routine I am always thankful I had the stick to the routine and go out and do it.
