Hey, if you own a house, you know that having a clean and empty garage doesn't happen often, if ever, so I just had to post some pics of what I finished tonight! :)
The sleezeball owner before me left a bunch of crap and a very dirty garage when he left, and I didn't have any time to clean it out before piling my stuff in. Then, when I decided to get rid of a storage unit I had been renting, I piled even more crap in there!
Since I currently have one of those moving PODS sitting in my driveway (because I thought I was going to have to sell the house and move), I decided to use it before returning it. As you know, it's hard to clean out any room unless you have somewhere to put your stuff in the mean time (and the garage is usually worse!).
Anyway, after getting everything out, using a power blower, a shop vac, broom and then a power washer, I had to take a picture.

Since I also have a LOT of quality empty boxes that I want to hold on to, I built a shelf above the garage door nice and hidden away. Most of the boxes have other boxes in them.

Next up I found a perfect remnant piece of carpet at Home Depot (12' x 22' for under $100) and am pretty happy with the final result.

The final plan for this weekend will have a nook on the right with all of my standing shelves and bookcases (plus a couple of work tables - one on each side of the garage), and room for my LifeCycle and Bowflex (not saying I'll actually use them, but at least they could be! :D ). Everything should be semi-hidden from view if it works out right. Anyway, that's tomorrow's job! Maybe in the future I'll add some more paint and white-wash the area my car stays in - it's actually very usable in there now when it was a horror show before. Yep, I'm pretty happy with it right now! 8-)
