DTR Jr was looking at my stash of concert tickets the other night. After the bashing I took for saying I'd seen Rush 20 times, I wasn't very interested in proving anything. But she found 19 Rush ticket stubs. That got me curious.
Back in the day, Rush (and most major acts) would come to both Cincinnati and Dayton on every tour. So we'd always see our favorite groups twice per tour, usually just a couple months apart. I saw Rush many times in Dayton. However, back then, we had a little trick we did. I ran with 3 other guys, and one of the group never had money. The other three of us would get concert tickets and we'd all four go. Three of us would go in, then one or all would go out back to the smoking area (outside) and smuggle him one of our ticket stubs to get in. OR, we'd get floor seats and he'd buy a cheap top row ticket. Then we'd go down the the floor and reach up and hand him a stub to get down there with us.
I found 3 Rush tours that I had Cinci tickets for and no Dayton tickets, and we saw them both places on those three tours. AND, we went to Lexington KY to see them once and we spent the whole weekend there, and I have no stub for that concert.
So, I've seen them 23 times, which raises the question "FU KEV!" 8-) 8-)
