OK I was out in my studio for the first time in a while, I booted my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and I began a project for the first time in at least 2 years. I want to do a tribute to BB King who is in trouble health wise, so I picked The Thrill Is Gone. I have some of the rhythm guitar parts, the bass, the strings, the piano all done to audio although I think I will replace the strings with Oohs or Aahs. I have to put on a vocal and lead guitar parts, and I have the drums mapped out but not recorded to audio. So it is almost fleshed out already. I am going to replace the lyrics with my own versions to honor BB who is one of my early influences, but I will try to keep the melody in tune with the classic melody (as best as I can with my croakings......) Not a bad afternoons project so far........
Man I forgot how to do almost everything. I had to search around here and there to remember how to bounce samples onto audio, and record to audio from my in computer synth, all of it trial and error, even though I have done those things hundreds of times. I guess I gotta just keep doing it or it will all fade away.
