Bought an item from Sweetwater Sound, they say free shipping, no hassle return policy, So I try to return an item and the invoice they sent me with the RA # says $11.07 less than I paid. No other music store ever did that to me. I of course paid the return shipping/insurance because I simply did not like the item, it was not defective. So it was on me to pay the return shipping.

Just sayin
My bad. I never read the return policy which clearly states if the item is shipped free, they will deduct the original shipping from the refund. Now that I know that I will do my buying from the other on line stores. Actually Amazon has the best return policy. They send you a prepaid shipping label and refund your credit card the same day you ask to return it. And you can buy musical instruments from Amazon and their partner resellers.
From a business perspective I would say that it is quite reasonable to charge the customer the original postage if it was returned because of a change of mind on the product.  There's no reason why the business should bear the cost because the customer changed his mind otherwise they would soon be going out of business just giving money away.
They gave me a pass on it this time and refunding the full price. So I told the Sweetwater guy I would still continue to purchase things I am sure I want.

That was very good of them !
I've only ordered from Sweetwater once... and it was great. candy in the box? heh, pretty cool.
I use them almost exclusively.  Very happy with them as a provider.  It seems that I can almost always get a better deal on strings from AMS, but no candy. LOL!  I was surprised about the candy.  The first thing I bought from Sweetwater was an Epiphone Custom Nighthawk.  The whole guitar purchase experience was great.  Better than expected.  But when the candy fell out of the box, I thought that was cool.

Knock on wood, I've never had to send anything back to any of the places that I've used.  I've been pretty satisfied with the service from all of them.  World Music Supply, AMS, Musician's Fiend.  I've bought countless crap from the latter two and all seemed to be well.

I think the free shipping, phone calls from the same salesman each time, and the candy make Sweetwater a go to place.  Of the many times that I've used Sweetwater, I've only ever spoke to one person that handles my account.  I think that's cool.

Sugar is poison for your brain. Just sayin. I always throw out the candy, right in the trash it goes.

Study sugar and dementia. Google it. I don't eat wheat, I don't consume dairy, and I especially don't eat sugar, honey or any sweetener except stevia. Once you reach a certain age and begin to forget things regularly, (and I am talking more than just the usual memory fo pas we all have). Anyways once you reach that age and the memory begins to fail towards dementia, it is too late to turn back the clock. I know this from experience. Of course none of you will take my comments seriously, so just Google it. I eat very little sweet fruit as well, and I am very low carb also. All those things lead to Alzheimer's. And sugar is one of the worst. Read a book called Grain Brain by Dr David Perlmutter MD. It is very hard to read but it contains some real interesting ideas you won't find anywhere else.
Wow, I LOVE sugar!!!  What were we talking about again?   :-?
So I just pulled the trigger on a Digitech RP155, ninety nine bucks from Amazon + free shipping. It has a tuner and is a full modeler so I can tweak till my hearts content on the only patch I would use in it, 6"x8"x 2" and it will fit nicely in my pedal board eliminating the need for a tuner stomp but still needing the line switcher.

And I guess all that herb you inhaled over the years was good for your brain?  ;D 90% of your forgetfulness right there. Now go get a candy bar and shut the fuck up.  ;D ;D That will be $100. Make the check out to Dr Hook.

Not to mention 30 or 40 LSD trips all in one summer like 1967 or 1968. Then ten years of rabid cocaine use. Nah we won't mention those either...... ;D

It is only after my memory started failing that I studied the matter, Before that I was a sugar junkie along with my other little addictions.
