I really like the layout of this forum, the look and feel of it all etc, with one exception....the smileys...they are really bad.

So I'll stick with these   etc

Oh yes, and one other thing.  Whilst I really like the Bert logo at the top of the screen (excellent picture in fact), it's too big, takes up too much room on the screen.  I would really prefer it if there was no logo at all so that we were straight into the forums etc without anything else cluttering up the screen.  Maybe it's just me?

I actually like the smileys and could use more.

Maybe a slightly smaller Bert logo would be a compromise for Jon G.  Then again, we could tell him to bugger off.   ;D

I completely agree with the smileys. I prefer smileys that relay the intent I want and most of the ones that come with this forum are just weird.  However, I like the logo (if people want I can make it smaller easily enough).  On "MY" screen it's not that big!  (Yes, size matters! )

I use a 17 inch scrren at 1280 x 1024, just the right size for my desk as I have sizeable monitors and other shit on it.

Mine's 21.3" using 1600x1200.

I haven't heard back from anyone regarding my offer so I'll go do it anyway.  BRB...  8-)

If this is better for everyone, then Charger can grab the picture from the link.  It'f half the size of the original.

1, the logo.  This is a placeholder for now... I like it, but it is way too big.  Do people prefer it smaller, or none at all?  I wouldn't mind trying to get Franzel to make up something special, something wide but not so tall...

2, the smilies.  I am not sure which ones you are talking about, are you talking about the normal smilies at the top of the "post" window, or the "more smilies" in the little sidebar box on the left?  I have some control over what smilies are shown... I think... but am not sure what you are most annoyed by...

I think what's being said is that the default smilies simply kind of suck.  They just aren't as good as what we used to have.

As for the logo, why don't you tell us what size would be best and maybe we can have a few that we rotate?

We can put in any size we want... feel free to start a thread called "logos" and I'll rotate some in.  Seems like people want something smaller... what's there is large now.  I think 2/3 of that height, max, would be good.  Whatever that is.

The WH smilies are all here now.  Look under the "more smilies" pull-down.  They are all listed starting with "WH"  I'm going to look into getting them to show up at the top of the post bar.  Also, if anyone has a particular smiley you want to be added, send it to me or post it as an attachment and I'll add it to the smiley directory.

Excellent.  Much better with the smaller logo, and we have our old smileys back too.
