Have you seen spring at all this year where you live ? Here in the UK spring has just not happened this year at all. The temperature since October last year has been no greater than 5C and since January this year until now it has been no more than 4C and quite often it has been -5C . Usually we start to see things warming up here around 2nd week of March and by now it should be at least 15C but no, still cold, icy fucking cold and I don't like it at all. Especially for the heating bills. Just received the Gas heating bill for the last quarter (Jan to March)....£450, approx $680 - that's astounding, never had a bill that high before ever. Just went out for 5 minutes and there is a hell of a gale blowing out there which makes the temperature drop even further. Would be nice to have some sunshine again....hope this isn't how it's going to be forever :(
we had 9+ inches of SNOW a week ago!
but I'm not complaining - I usually have to start doing yard work this week... nice break. :)
We had our first high school track meet last night. The first two were cancelled due to snow and cold. Temp was in the upper 20s f when we left - nearly froze my ass off. Felt bad for the girls.
Today we might see 50 though, so that will be a start.
We went to Opening Day (the national holiday that is the Cincinnati Reds first game) the other day and froze our butts off. Going tonight too, and while its up to 50 today, it will be down in the 30s by the end of the game. We're dressing more like we do for football games... I HATE THE FREAKING COLD! I want to get my new kayak out on the lake!
It's pretty nice where we are, California Central Coast. But then again, it's always pretty nice here... we've had highs in the mid-60s to 70s the last couple weeks, interspersed with some seasonal rain. It would be nice to get a little more rain, but we've definitely got spring in full swing... the pears, apples, and cherries all blossomed in the last couple weeks....
Still no leaves on any trees around here yet, looks like mid winter and it's just started snowing again !
Spring exploded a few days ago. The trees are LOADED with blossoms but not for long. We're expecting rain the next couple of days which tends to knock 'em all off the branches. It got up to 77 a few days ago which felt like 90. I don't need it to be freezing, but I by far prefer the cooler weather.
80 degrees F plus here in the Sonoran Desert near Phoenix Arizona every day, no clouds no rain, so far so good. Hundred plus days not far off and in June 110 + every day. AC tech coming out next Monday to do my yearly check up.
I can't say it spring yet. But it's real close. The temp has been up and down like crazy. 31 then 54 then 31 then runs up to 70 then down to 45. Just all over the place. We do have buds on some of our trees so I would expect within the next week or so to see flowers blooming.
About the same as FB here in Charlotte NC. Although, it's suppose to be in the mid 70's this weekend. Great drinking weather. ;D
I found spring. We were in Gatlinburg from Thursday til today. When we left there today it was 77 and it was 75 yesterday. I actually got a little sunburn. Thats not all i got... Stopped at Willcutt on the way home and got me a little sumpin sumpin. ;-)
Watch the gear forum tomorrow.
Spring ? What is it ? 4C at 8am and dense fog! The only positive thing: no works in the garden! :)
77 here today! But chilly again this weekend. Mid to high 40s again. >:(
Official spring time now around here. Everything is blooming and looking good. upper 70's are the highs....upper 60's are the lows. PERFECT weather.
5C this morning and snow at 700mt. :-/
05-24 of the past year: 30C !!!
We had Spring for a little while, but for the last week or so we're back to Winter with lows getting into the 30's (degrees F) and the high yesterday was only in the 40's...
I may be the only one, but I loved it since it's easier for me to get warm than to cool off and I've VERY productive on rainy days. :)
7C here today. This is crazy stuff. At this time of year I would normally be wearing shorts and T shirts, instead I'm wearing my winter coat when I go out and we still have the heating on in the house.
End of the world ;D
yeah, it was 88 here a couple days ago, high today mid 60s. This sucks! The lows tonight might get into the 30s!!!
Upper 90's to 100's-115's F every day here from now on until mid October. But after living here for 15 years, the heat does not bother me at all, in fact until July, I will walk the 2-1/2 miles round trip to our gym every day except Sunday and work out 3x on weights and 3x on the treadmill and bike. Actually it is the cold that bothers me more than the heat.
